Surf Motel is a surprisingly nice motel with very nice rooms and suites. Parking is included and Wi-Fi is free. The vibrant blue of all the doors really made the place pop, and the sound of the palm trees in the wind almost sounded like waves on the beach. I suppose that's just my mind reacting to the name of the place.
Service was very friendly and the property is well-maintained. If you need a place on Lombard Street with a space for your car, this is a good choice. It does not take long to reach the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio, the Marina and Crissy Field.

Although it isn’t on the water, the bright, inviting colors of the Surf Motel remind me of driving through old beach towns down the coast of California. Located on Lombard Street, it's an easy walk to the fancy boutiques, bars, and eateries nearby, as well as a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. If you happen to have a car, they offer free parking, which is hard to come by in this neighborhood. They do have quieter rooms toward the back of the building, as well as spacious family suites. The family suites come with a nice kitchenette (doesn't have a stove), a dining table, microwave, mini-fridge and sink. It also boasts a large closet, and vanity. The interior décor feels basic, but clean, and well-kept. They offer free Wi-Fi and free danishes in the morning, and the staff greet you with a smile– which is all you really ask for when you’re looking for a budget-friendly motel in a good location.Recommended for:Family Travelers
