As a previous reviewer mentioned, there are in fact two Sutton Hotels. One is slightly better than the other as it has a direct view over the Cheon-Gye-Chon River, whereas the other is off a side alley, but I don't know how you would reserve a specific one. The previous reviewer also mentioned that the second and third floors of ...

    Myeong-dong Street

    0.64 mi from SUTTON HOTEL
    92 reviews

Myeong-dong Street is filled with cool, little shops and restaurants. There are also street food stalls selling interesting items. I had an omelet sandwich with cinnamon and ketchup, and it oddly tasted good. It's also a neat place to take pictures, especially when the shops light up at night.

A touristy but pleasant area to explore for street snacks, restaurants, or shopping for traditional Korean crafts.

    Seoul City Hall

    0.7 mi from SUTTON HOTEL
    28 reviews

The entire City Hall area has just undergone a renovation and the new building looks great. Plus, the police will no longer bother you for sitting on the grass on a nice day...providing that you're not with a group larger than, say, three people. Mass gathering and protesting is still prohibited on the lawn.

Changdeok Palace in Seoul is the prettiest palace of all. This is the King's quarters. The palace compound isn't as huge as Gyeongbukgung's but we had a nice time strolling around.

I wasn't impressed with Deoksugung. It's quite small and just didn't seem to be worth visiting after seeing some of the other palaces.

Jongno is the center of Seoul - transportation, history, culture, and art, but most of all - street food. The street might be filled with people during the day, but it will be replaced with the bright-light street food vendors cart at night. Great price, and great atmosphere to check out some of the best street foods in Seoul.

Namsan Park is a great place to escape the busyness of Seoul. Some of the paths are a bit steep and can be a challenge after a day of walking, but parts of the park are more peaceful than one might expect.

Families who want to experience a bit of Korea's past together should head to this cluster of traditional Korean homes (called hanok) where one can get a taste of how life was like during the Joseon Dynasty. The traditional homes have been restored and visitors can wander around and inside to see how typical families lived. If planning a visit ...

This is one of my favorite places to grab a bite in Seoul, if only because the selection of food is so diverse. Leading up to the center of the market, you'll find a variety of...interesting...local cuisine, ranging from enormous raw scallops, to sundae (blood sausage) to pig's ears and chicken feet. While these aisles might be for the more ...

Changgyeonggung is one of the big palaces in Seoul. The grounds are very scenic. During the colonial period, the Japanese built a zoo and botanic garden on the grounds, so not many of the original buildings remain. I recommend this as one of the most interesting palaces in Seoul.
