I've enjoyed playing poker here and done really well.. silly boys! They have a large non smoking area, a remodeled buffet that was really great and often host events and giveaways.

I love the Sycuan Resort. While quite a jaunt away from the hub of San Diego, thrown out into the inland empire and bordering the southeastern desert lands of California, it can get very hot here. But never fear: the choice of pools, casino and gambling, and a luxury spa will keep you cool and entertained. For the golf aficionados, they have a full 54-hole course, complete with a complimentary shuttle to and from the resort. Enjoy classic American cuisine at the cafe grill, or sip on a cocktail at Echo's Lounge (and don't you dare leave without trying the buttermilk calamari dipped in tomato aioli. YUM.) Then sink down into a giant, sigh-worthy bed beneath a vaulted ceiling, or while away the evening on your private balcony, overlooking the course and the mountains in the distance.

The suite I saw was pretty big, consisting of a living area, a middle room that had the bathroom in it, and the master bedroom. The room was desert themed, which matched the sweltering sun. I never knew a tiny pool could be so inviting. When I stay at a "resort" I always expect a big pool with maybe some kind of tree shade, but there is no such luxury at the Sycuan Resort. This is a great place if you don't really want to leave the hotel in order to be active, as they do have a wide array of activities to do. The have golf, tennis, a spa and fitness room! They even have disc golf!!! There really is something for the whole family here, I just think they need to plant a few trees in order to shade guests from the inland heat. I would come back, especially because this resort is a deal when considering what is accessible for guests.

The hotel grounds are huge, as I would expect from a casino. The room was spacious and adorable, with a vanity area, white slatted closet doors, and small pattern details throughout the room. From the outside I was expecting something in need of an update, so I was pleasantly surprised by the tall beds and cozy throw pillows. I actually want my own room to look something like those in this hotel, and that’s impressive. In addition to the golf and two pools, there is also a small disc golf course for the more casual outdoor gamer. I’m not cool enough to play disc golf, but if you want it, it’s there. Hotel guests receive relatively decent discounts for golf, and I was happy to be a smug San Diego resident and find that their discount is even greater for us.

The hotels are actually not bad! We were here last Christmas for a company party and they provide complimentary shuttles from the rooms to the casino. The food here was also really good in the banquet area.
