    Sydney Harbour YHA

    Sydney Harbour YHA

    4.5
    3 reviews

Part hostel and part archaeological project, The Sydney Harbour YHA, on a quiet street in the Rocks neighborhood overlooking the water, instantly has a certain cool about it. Though it's pricey by hostel standards, the dorms are very new (each with an ensuite bathroom), and while the privates are basic, they're also spotless, with solid bathrooms. The industrial-warehouse-style floorplan is ...

    Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney

    Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    3 reviews

With free wi-fi, a restaurant, bar, gym, pool, steam room, sauna and day spa, the Radisson Blu certainly has enough indoor facilities to keep you entertained. However, with its location a short distance from the corporate hub of Martin Place, the area directly around the hotel feels a little boring, especially after 5pm. Being a heritage-listed building, many rooms are ...

    Grace Hotel Sydney

    Grace Hotel Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews

This hotel and even the street on which it sits screams ‘Art-Deco heritage’. Walk into the lobby and you feel transported to the heart of 1930s New York. The Grace has a colourful history and stylish décor, which in itself makes for a unique inner-city experience. The hotel also has a discount arrangement with a number of local businesses and ...

    Park Hyatt Sydney

    Park Hyatt Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    10 reviews

The Park Hyatt Sydney has a fantastic location, next the The Rocks shopping area, across the cove from the iconic Sydney Opera House, and close to the Royal Botanical Gardens. The amenities and appointments are what you might expect from a higher end Park Hyatt Hotel, although the rooms are not spacious, the prime real estate limiting expansiveness in this ...

    Hilton Sydney

    Hilton Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    8 reviews

Beautiful and modern property located right in the middle of all types of action: food, shop, tourist, and non tourist. The rooms are quite spacious and the higher floor ones have fantastic views of the city and if on the right side, the Sydney tower is almost within grasp. The decor is very chic and modern. Clean and comfortable. There ...

Very friendly brewpub in the Rocks area (the oldest in Australia apparently). Try the Nelson's Porter.

    Westin Sydney

    Westin Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    9 reviews

I loved the Westin, with its awesome location at One Martin Place, from the moment I first walked into the lobby. Glassed in by a towering high ceiling, the lobby interior encloses a huge square between the newer tower section of the hotel and the lovely heritage sandstone facade next door, with the nifty Mosaic restaurant giving a great view ...

    Sheraton on the Park

    Sheraton on the Park

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    8 reviews

As you would expect from a Sheraton, this hotel is nothing short of luxurious, elegant and sophisticated. With a grand staircase gracing the lobby you can’t help but feel you’re onboard the Titanic rather than in a modern hotel. There is a choice of two views - city side and the more expensive park side – but regardless of what ...

BLUE Sydney - A Taj Hotel

BLUE Sydney - A Taj Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    6 reviews

The Blue Hotel is located right on the harbor at Woolloomooloo - you get ocean views from almost every room. Its a Taj Hotel, so is nicely styled and has a cool bar in the central lobby with amazingly high ceilings. It is an easy walk to almost anywhere, but I felt the location felt a bit isolated - not ...

    InterContinental Sydney

    InterContinental Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    5 reviews

I'm not big on my chain hotels, but the Intercon in Sydney scores for its location and some pretty decent service too. Although you'll pay a premium for it, make sure you bag a harbour view room. What's the point in staying here, otherwise?

    The Australian Heritage Hotel

    The Australian Heritage Hotel

    Hotel Class:

When is a pub more than just a pub? When it’s the Australian Heritage hotel of course. This pub / hotel has beer, a lot of beer, and it also has a lot of avid fans. Very popular amongst locals and tourists alike you’d find to hard to feel lonely in this place. The hotel is perched on top of ...

    The Diamant Boutique Hotel Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    4
    5 reviews

Based on the reviews of Kings Cross we wanted a safe, reputable hotel that was also walking distance to the bars and restaurants. Another gogobot user had recommended the Diamant and it didn't disappoint. Modern rooms with free wifi and most importantly, as we were there on the hottest day in Australia's history, air conditioning! As a sidenote I didn't ...

    The Menzies Sydney

    Hotel Class:

Very nice motel. Stayed in Room 215 in the north wing which was comfortable and quite. Very central location with Wynyard Station just across the road. Had the buffet breakfast at the motel one morning which was a little pricey (we are members of the Accor Club which means 1/2 price meals and kids eat free).

    The Darling

    The Darling

    4.5
    3 reviews

Was a little apprehensive about this place before arriving as it's part of the Star Casino complex in the rather sterile, corporate development that is Darling Harbour. If you can accept that there's nothing which speaks to the city's heritage within a one-mile radius then you'll be happy enough. For a city where many of the hotels just don't try ...
