A stunning natural harbour that looks at its best when out on the water. My favourite journey was from Circular Quay to Manly

Must-see in Sydney! Iconic harbor area with ferry boats and street performers everywhere. It reminds me a little bit of the Pier 39 area of San Francisco. Great place to sit with a friend and people watch for an afternoon!

One of the city's icons, the Sydney harbor is a mecca of activity and life, especially in summer. Cruise across it in one of the many ferries, visit the outlying island communities (like Manly), view the Opera House from the waterfront, or simply enjoy splashing on the shores in the midday heat. And of course, be sure to soak up the stunning nighttime views of the harbor, when the city lights reflect on the dark water.

Sydney Harbour is beautiful. In addition to iconic structures like the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, it's surrounded by quaint neighborhoods such as The Rocks. You can catch ferries to other parts of Sydney such as Manly Beach.

The Sydney Harbour bridge is perhaps one of the 2 most recognized icons of Sydney, and to locals it is known as the "Coat Hanger', for obvious reasons. It is perhaps not as iconic as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, but the neat thing about the bridge, being smaller and not as tall, is that you can take a hike up the bridge on a guided tour and get a great look at this beautiful city.

During WYD 2008 we celebrated our first night at Barangaroo where mass, prayers, and a concert was held. I led my group back into the CBD an we got lost. We ended up right under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was a laughing experience.

Sydney Harbour is the most beautiful natural habour in the world. The best way to take it all in is by boat, where you can see all of Sydney's major sights. Breathtaking!

Circular Quay is THE tourist spot when visiting Sydney. Be sure to walk up the Opera House steps, turn around and see a beautiful view of the Sydney skyline. And if you're feeling extra adventurous, I recommend the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. Now THAT is the best view of the city.
