The Szechenyi Baths are one of Budapest's most worthwhile experiences. Budapest has a handful of thermal springs that were converted into baths by the Romans and have served that purpose ever since. Szechenyi is located in City Park. The building itself is a handsome Fin de Siecle palace leftover from the Habsburg era.

You can rent a locker or a cabana and towels. Outside there are two large pools, one of which contains a whirlpool. Inside, however, you are treated to a succession of hot tubs and baths of various temperatures. The interior is wonderfully ornate with columns, stained glass and iron fixtures everywhere. An afternoon at Szechenyi is as good as a massage and highy recommended.

One of the Budapest's most famous spas. It has 3 outdoor pools, 15 indoor thermal pools. You can also use the saunas, steam bathes. Towel and masseges are not included in the entrance price. There is no children ticket.

The bath has some great, heated outdoor pools and some indoor pools. I liked it because of the nice old building, but it was a bit overcrowded. So, if you're afraid of half-naked strangers, you shouldn't go there.

Cloudy summer days are the best time to enjoy and relax at this beautiful site, not many tourists decide to go if it menaces rain, so the place will be practically yours.

This is the LARGEST spa / bathing complex in Europe - this neo-baroque complex is the best in Budapest and the ourdoor pool is even open all year round. Explore the dozens of pools, saunas and steamrooms operating at different temperatures

Wonderful baths that date from the Roman era. Reminds you that Budapest was for centuries one of the most civilised cities in Europe.

Not sure about the medicinal effects of the thermal baths but even just relaxing in the open air pools surrounded by last century neo-baroque buildings does miracles for the soul.

This place is a hot tub party Hungarian style. The hot pools, spurting fountains, and thermal baths that make up Szechenyi are incredibly awesome and capable of easing the weariest of bones. A great place to spend a day, relax, and hang with the locals. You really shouldn't miss it.

A day in the baths is a ubiquitous part of any trip to Budapest.. if you and up in the baths and not the zoo, but that's another story..

It's less that £10 for a whole day access, and if you don't stay fro the whole day, part of the ticket price is refundable. The hot pool is full of men playing chess, right in the water, and the number of pool, steam rooms and saunas is remarkable. Some of them have aromatherapy oils in them for different treatments, then there's the torture chamber. Actually it's just really hot room - 80 Celsius no less, which is followed by a dip in an ICE cold plunge pool.

I prefered this place over the swimming area in Hotel Gellert. On a hot summer day, nothing beats the friendly and nice atmosphere of this place. You can even see small crystals in the water!
