If you're in Taipei this building isn't to be missed. As the 2nd tallest in the world with the world's faster elevator why would you want to?
Best time of day is to go before nightfall. This gives you 3 separate opportunities--view the city during the daylight, sunset and at night. Get there early though, the lines move quickly, but you don't want to miss the setting sun!

Terrific building, lots of activity and a great destination for panoramic photography or interesting views of the surrounding neighborhoods. The sub level has a nice grocery area, geared more to Europeans/Americans...where one can buy things like breakfast cereal, etc. There are several big name brands here, and some great restaurants. The food court is fun too, with good hot plates, mongolian grills, etc. The bookstore at the top, PageOne, is fantastic.

I love everything about Taipei 101. There is 101 floors hence the name. The building is beautiful, there is a large inside and plenty of eateries. We ended up at Din Tai Fung for lunch (famous for their dumplings).
Unfortunately it was a rainy day but the view from the observatory (89th floor) was still gorgeous. It was a little scary for me because it's really high!
I would love to go back on a clear day!

im not sure if ive been to a shiner place in my life, the mall at the bottom uses marble and other materials so often that its like walking through a mirror. That being said this place is clean, fancy and the view at the top is great, depending on the air quality of the city at the time.

The shops in the mall were all big brands like Prada, Coach, TODS and etc. They had a food stalls and The Market Place(a supermarket) at the basement level. You have to pay to get to the tower levels to see the amazing view of Taipei. The queue was really long as you have to wait for your ticket number to be called in order to get in the queue but it was worth the wait. The view was awesome! Especially the sunset! A thumbs up for photographers who wants to get a full view of the city!
