    The Riviera Hotel

    The Riviera Hotel

    Class:
    4
    2 reviews
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

The Riviera Hotel has made some great efforts in the way of environmental design. Though it’s a bit of a jaunt from the nearest MRT station and the décor and furnishing looks like the interior of a house from the 1980s (green and yellow striped curtains and giant sea green lamps), all is forgiven when you see what’s on top—a ...

When our dragon boat team raced in Taiwan, we stayed at the Yuanshan Great Hotel (圓山大飯店). As one of the world's tallest Chinese classical buildings, this landmark hotel has hosted several foreign dignitaries. Moreover, Taipei's Grand Hotel was featured in "Eat Drink Man Woman," a Taiwanese film directed by Ang Lee. The Grand Hotel's roof showcases a flair for Chinese ...

Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

Sheraton’s in a very convenient location, being right outside the Shandao Temple MRT station. It’s one of the biggest hotels in Taipei, with lots of rooms and lots of different restaurants. Maybe the most famous is the French restaurant, Antoine Room, which has quite a long history. It’s rather ornately decorated, and feels very high class. I went with a ...

    Hotel Eclat

    Hotel Eclat

    Class:
    5
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 91% of guests recommend

Hotel Eclat is a great place to stay, very glamorous and fashionable. The room design is really special, with glass doors on the armoire and mirrored nightstands. I liked the cute little retro phones. The showers are designed with slatted wooden paneling on the floor, giving them both a very natural feeling as well as making them comfortable and slip-proof. ...

    Palais de Chine

    Palais de Chine

    Class:
    4.5

Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

The interior design and atmosphere of the Palais de Chine is kind of awkward, like they wanted to do something different but tried too hard, and ended up coming off kind of pretentious. The interior is very dark, and there’s lots of creepy statues (starting with the first one you see of a giant horse). It’s like a scene out ...

    Les Suites Taipei Da-An

    Class:
    4.5

Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

Comfortable somewhat luxurious spot to stay in Taipei. Luckily, I had an "in" and so had a discounted rate. Definitely walking distance to various shopping areas and easy access to the MRT. Only downsides were a slight dankness to the room and furnishings that seemed built with more style than substance.

    The Sherwood Taipei

    Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

In general The Sherwood has always given me the feeling of being kind of a generic international business hotel. But the décor is nice and simple, elegant. There’s lots of artwork and collectibles displayed around the hotel, and several restaurant options. It seems to be very popular with Japanese guests. And unlike other hotels you have to stay in the ...

The design of Hotel 73 is very modern and sleek. The hotel makes you feel like you’re in an art gallery, which makes it a little hard to approach. It doesn’t feel very relaxing. There’s even artwork and photography on display in the lobby, along with little crafts and designer items for sale, really designed like a little art gallery. ...

The Grand Hyatt is a pretty cool hotel. You can tell immediately when you walk into the 3 story high vaulted ceiling lobby. It's just Grand. The exterior of the building is pretty outstanding from the buildings around it, smaller and cozy feeling. The lobby is small, but the staff is very nice. The rooms are basic, but surprisingly comfortable. Even though the hotel is located in a relatively bustling part of town, inside the room it’s like a quiet respite from the noise. It’s tucked ...

The complimentary breakfast is served here, but it's open 24 hours to guests and stocked with an array of complimentary coffee, tea, fruit, cookies, chips, candy, and other snacks.
