    Taipei 101 (台北101)

    4.5
    123 reviews

Taipei 101 has become an icon of the city. This building most certainly deserves the attention. This building was thoughtfully designed mixing the traditional components with modern once, making a beautiful piece of architecture. The inside: Brand shopping. The view: nice, but I prefer having a view of Taipei 101 from a distinct point.

    National Palace Museum

    4.5

This museum houses some of the most amazing and in-tact artifacts from the history of China. The museum is built into the side of a mountain, which is where these artifacts were stored to ensure their safety against raids during the war. To this day, people come from China to view these exhibits of their history. You can easily get ...

It has awesome food, awesome clothes & the shop owner gave me discounts when i went to buy their clothes! It's a place for young people to shop all they want. You can find loads of small food stalls while shopping around, no worries about your empty stomach or thirsty throat. Their 阿宗面线(Ah Chung Mee Sua), is a must try! ...

I can see the Maokong Gondola from my bedroom window and I can only recommend to try it out when you come to visit Taipei. Make sure to stop at the Zhinan temple station before going all the way up. There are some great tea houses and chicken restaurantsat the Maokong station

Great place by the river; my brother loves the arcade games here, so this is one of our musts when we're in Taiwan. The machines suck you and your money in, so set aside only a certain amount of money to play arcade games/play the claw machines. There's a really neat Turkish ice cream stand nearby; they give you a ...

My favorite night market in Taipei. I always get in line for the "Shanghai Pork Buns" near the very beginning of the market. It has a mix of clothing and food stands.

Forget about expensive Spa massages (well a Spa is still pretty cheap in Taipei^^) and get on the MRT up to Danshui and make sure to change the train in Beitu for the Xin Beitou MRT station. The hot springs are right next to the station and offer your 3 different pools. If you don't have a swim suit you ...

    Longshan Temple

    4.5
    9 reviews

I came here with my family to pray to Buddha; the religious folks come here to ask him or her (depending on what you're praying for) to protect and watch over them. If you're not Buddhist, come and take in the history, architecture, and learn about another culture's religious practices. The temple really is a beauty!

If malls must exist then this is the way it should be done although my five star rating is based more on the building, the high speed elevator to the top and the engineering skills that made this the world's tallest building for a while. It continues to be the world's greenest tall building.

Cool formations but full of tourists. Go off the beaten path and hike up to the lookout through the Yehliu Park (there's a trail somewhere in there). Not many people go through the hike so it's quite nice having it all to yourself. The roads are paved and there's an area to look out into the ocean where the winds ...

    Sun Moon Lake

When the boats aren't running and you're in a remote area, the lake is beautiful and serene. During the day it's congested with boats full of tourists and the water levels have fallen so the shores are not very pretty. However, I do recommend taking a bike rental and riding alongside the lake on their designated bike route. When you ...
