I enjoyed the omakase at this place so much! I had the single piece of the best tasting sashimi (Tuna toro) I have ever had in all my years of sushi-ventures. The place is tucked away in a plaza in the Golden Village region of Richmond, BC. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and gorgeously decorated, simple but very classy and elegant, perfect for a date. The menu is fairly extensive, we ordered a few yakitori - chicken wings, chicken skin and chicken hearts, they were perfectly seasoned and thinly sliced. And their Omakase (for 2) is really the highlight, the plating is beautiful, on top of ice, there are scallops (with uni at the center) to resemble a real scallop, the beautiful color and shine of the salmon spells freshness, the hamachi - perfect texture that melts in mouth, even the mackerel - usually not my favorite type of sashimi tasted so wonderful, and the tuna toro, it's hard to describe, the whole piece fell away as soon as it hits the tongue and it really took my understanding of sashimi to a whole new level. And we've only asked for the medium grade Omakase - $60 for 2. In NYC, similar quality of Omakase could easily cost 3 times the price. The staff speaks perfect Cantonese and is very attentive and the level of service is definitely worthy of fine dining. If you are a sushi lover traveling in the area, this is the place to be!
