Amazing hotel! One of the best Starwood hotels we've ever been to. Upon walking in, we were escorted to sit down in a lounge area while staff helped us with the check-in process. It was the first time we didn't have to stand at a counter for check-in. What great service!
In short: beautiful lobby, luxurious room and extremely friendly staff. We enjoyed pisco tastings at the bar late night, then a delicious hot breakfast the next morning in the restaurant downstairs. An unforgettable hotel stay. Highly recommended. Convenient location close to Urubamba train station.Recommended for:

A true 5 star in the center of Urubamba. The service and atmosphere here are excellent. A great place to seek refuge after a few hard days of hiking or roughing it in the countryside. The pool, spa, and fitness facilities are lovely. Really enjoyed the indoor / outdoor heated horizon pool.
For good or bad, Tambo del Inka could easily be mistaken for a luxury ski lodge in the US or Europe. The food is solid but a little disappointing for the price point. The location also makes it feel like you are in a sheltered resort compound.
A great choice if you need an escape and don't mind being in a bubble. However, if you are looking for a quaint Peruvian experience, you are better off with a three star Inn in Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is a much prettier town and you'll have more freedom / easier access to local food and entertainment.Recommended for:

We stayed here for two nights. I wish we had more time. This is a very beautiful hotel. The hotel's common areas with their high ceilings and giant fireplaces are richly and uniquely decorated. Our room was large and very comfortable, with a walk-in closet; the bathroom was huge and well stocked. We had a little patio outside with two lounge chairs and a table – it was a perfect place to unwind there after a day of sightseeing and enjoy beautiful sunset. The food both in the bar and in the restaurant is very good and well presented; and the breakfast is plentiful. The hotel staff could not be nicer and more accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located for exploring the Sacred Valley and its surroundings. I would not stay anywhere else, if money was no object - the prices are pretty high!Recommended for:
