The water is pretty and the beach is okay -- if a bit warn down. The tourist hoardes and over development are major detractors but hard not to like a beach. This is not your quiet tropical get away. I couldn't imagine being here for more than a day or two.

Tamuning sits on Tumon Bay, a beautiful, protected cove with a great white sand beach that is rarely crowded. The several hotels that dot the bay have their own direct access to the beach, with water sports and activities available, or just lay out and work on your snooze and sun tan.
This area has become the poor Japanese person's Waikiki, since it is closer, cheaper to get to, and has a lot of the same benefits: beaches, tropical weather, and nearby brand name boutiques and duty free shops. Consequently, you will find a lot more Asians, especially Japanese, but also Chinese and Korean here, than any other foreign nationals.
