Zanzibar is one of those rare places that is actually as exotic on the tongue as it is in real life. Spicy, sultry, tropical and seething of a bygone era of sultans and slaves, of missionaries and Allah under steamy African skies. Zanzibar's Stone Town, the jungles of the interior and sweeping sugary beaches all around are all begging for ...

Nungwi is the village and northernmost beach on Zanzibar. It is a popular stop for backpackers, as there is a vibrant nightlife scene and plenty of inexpensive accommodation. There are several restaurants, some fun and funky bars, SCUBA and fishing outfitters, a natural aquarium, and long stretches of white sand.

Since it's a small place there isn't a boring moment and ...

Beautiful! Clean, white sandy beaches with the most turquoise waters. Ok snorkeling but you can't beat the beach on the east side of Zanzibar. Close to the northern tip but not crowded with tourists. Lovely place!
