I went here on my honeymoon and it was the most amazing place that I've ever been. Magical, inspiring and totally dream-like. I felt like we were transported to another world at this lodge. Service was impeccable. If you go to Tanzania, you must stay here.Popular with

We stayed for 5 nights over the New Year's holiday at Langi Langi in a Sea View room. Although the hotel feels like an all inclusive resort, it still maintains a level of authenticity as it is fully owned and staffed by locals. The room itself was fairly small but had a nice balcony overlooking the water and incredible view. ...

It might be a bit overpriced, but this is a pretty special place to have a sundowner. There's nothing like sipping a pina colada as you watch the sun set - and the view here is great for that. My recommendation is splurge a bit on the drinks here, then save money on dinner and hit the night market for ...Popular with

When you think about staying in a tent, luxury and private attendants don't really come to mind but wait until you see the tents at Grumeti! You'll feel like royalty. The staff here was terrific, as well. They went out of their way to prepare a special private dining experience for my family on my mother's birthday. The regular dining ...Popular with

We stayed here during our first night on safari. The lodge sits atop a ridge overlooking the river and park below. After a long day of driving around on safari, it was nice to hang out on the balcony and view the animals (elephants & giraffes) walking around below, all while having a few cocktails. Sleeping accommodations were in permanent ...

We spent two days here while in the Western Serengeti. I think the options for accommodation in this part of the Serengeti are at places like this (mountain top with views) or in the migration camps very close to the Grumeti River, which were actually pretty far from here. We really enjoyed our stay at this camp. The "tents" were ...Popular with

Located on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge was the perfect place to finish our week long safari. Sitting out on the balcony, viewing the animals on the crater floor was a lot of fun. As for the rooms, pretty standard fair; nothing too much to write about.

I've stayed at all of the Serena lodges in the Serengeti, and have to say that this is the nicest of the bunch. The view is magnificent -- as you enjoy your sundowner and peruse the open plains ahead of you. Design of the hotel is very impressive as well, and if that wasn't enough - a swimming pool from ...

Get a tea on their terrace, facing the sea. A colonial touch for this stylish hotel in Stone Town, where we normally make a stop, while going around in Stone Town.Popular with

Great location right in the heart of the Serengeti. The view deck is a great place to catch the sunset and view the animals running around below.

Safari Lodge is conveniently located downtown near the clock tower. It is one of the nicer properties in town and has a bit of both Hollywood and history to it. This is where John Wayne used to have his sundowners while filming "Hatari!". The rooms are small but modern and clean. The grounds are beautiful and spacious.Popular with
