Restaurants for Vegetarian in Tanzania
- 1Malawi Road, Malindi Area, Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania2 reviews
Every time I am in Zanzibar, this is my first stop after dropping off my luggage at the hotel. I usually find myself there for lunch every day I'm in Stone Town. They serve tasty, authentic local fare and fresh juices. I highly recommend a plate of beef biryani along with a glass of tamarind juice. Their house-made chili sauce ...Popular with

This place does not look like anything special at all from the outside. However the food is delicious. It may be a bit authentic for some. It carries a spicy punch, and some plates come with huge chunks of ginger embedded in them. However, the seafood is fresh, the portions are huge, and the sauces have a sophisticated array of ...Popular with

Situated right next to a river in a very lush garden, the aptly named River House is a wonderful restaurant serving local cuisine and bbq items. We especially enjoyed the pre meal drinks in their garden patio where we could hear the river/stream. We had a very delicious and relaxing lunch here on our last day of visit in Arusha.
- 5New Moshi Road, Arusha, Tanzania1 review
It's one of my favorite restaurants in Arusha. Friendly staff serve great Ethiopian food here in a comfortable setting. It's not set that far off the road but somehow it provides a nice little retreat from the hustle and bustle of Arusha.Popular with
- 6Inside Sea Cliff Hotel, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Beautifully perched on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea. The sea breezes quickly make you forget about hot sticky Dar. Have a couple drinks and relax with some friends. A great spot to chill.Popular with
Freddy's has got it all - a sea view, a full bar, international cuisine AND cultural nostalgia (for fans of Queen). Freddy Mercury fans will well know that Zanzibar is his birthplace and the old photos of him on the walls here are the closest memorial you'll find to his fallen royalty. A great place for a sundowner.Popular with
- 10Shangani St, Zanzibar Town, Tanzania1 review
Located in the Serena hotel, Masahani is extravagantly priced, but delicious as well. Though most of the fare on the menu was well above what I would be willing to pay for food, the waterfront location is quite pleasant, and the lobster tagliatelle is a bit cheaper, and was quite delicious.Popular with
- 14Ali Hassan Mwinyi Rd. at Ohio, Serena Hotel, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania1 review
A pleasant place to sit for quality coffee, drinks or a meal with great natural light and friendly service. For lunch they have a tasty looking sandwich bar, or you can venture next door for the pasta bar or salad bar for about 11 usd. The salad bar includes smoked salmon, rack of lamb, a bread and cheese plate, and ...
- 16258 Katoke Road, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania2 reviews
A cool outdoor cafe serving fresh fruit, smoothies and lunch specials. They have wifi, but you have to pay.Popular with
- 17Shangani Street1 review
A posh addition to the waterfront, the menu looks delicious, but we only visited for drinks. Unfortunately, they were horrible, and for the high price we paid for them, it was a bit disappointing. The places does have a very cool ambiance though, if it could just get its act together a bit.Popular with
- 18Jamhuri Street (City Center), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
There are often lines waiting for the special Summy's chicken off the grille. Unfortunately the waiter recommended I order the sizzling chicken off the menu and I took some bad advice. Ordering off the menu is a bad idea. Ordering chicken from the open grill looks like a great idea, and next time I am going for it for sure.
- 19At Langi Langi Hotel, on the water front1 review
The setting is so cool, that it is hard to do anything but like this place. It is set on a beautifully constructed wood balcony overlooking the aqua blue waters of Nungwi. However, the food is far below average, and is quite expensive. It is quite ironic, given on their website, the bemoan the food in the area, and claim ...
