A spa-resort built completely on green and sustainable principles, this is Taos' luxury place. Try to get someone to show you around and explain the water recycling system, view the spa area, and the beautiful grounds. you don't have to stay there to enjoy facilities like a pedicure, massage, a drink in the bar, or lunch in their very reasonably-priced ...

    Eske's Brew Pub & Eatery

Eske's Brew Pub is not right on the main drag in Taos, which may be why we decided to go there. Eske's has a small kitchen that you can see from the dining room. They brew a variety of great beers and serve bar food made from local ingredients.

The food is excellent, and this is a great place for a quiet dinner. The decor is tastefully funky, and they often have work by local artists on the walls.

Lambert's of Taos Restaurant & Bar

    8 reviews

Lambert's has blossomed in its new location on Bent Street, and has a lovely dining patio. The food is excellent, and if you're not up for a big meal, we recommend the upstairs bar, where you can get many dinner menu items. Happy Hour on Friday evenings shouldn't be missed.

    El Meze

    7 reviews

Our favourite Taos restaurant, El Meze is just to the north of town in El Prado. The ambiance is great for romantic dinners, or small groups of friends, and the menu outstanding.

    World Cup Cafe

    7 reviews

The girls running the World Cup are amazing, and if you go often enough, they will remember your name - even after a break away! It's a tiny place, but people will sit outside the windows and watch the world go by through the centre of Taos. Another plus: they carry the Weekly Guardian newspaper - unrivalled for world news.

    El Gamal

El Gamal is a great breakfast and lunch restaurant behind the Plaza. They offer a wide range of Middle Eastern vegetarian items - my favourite is the Falafel Plate. Their pita bread is to die for, and if El Gamal is closed, you can now buy their pita and wonderful bagels at Cid's grocery.
