What an experience, a food fun fair where you can eat and how much as you like (as long as you have the vouchers for it of course). This has to be one of the best foodie events I have been too, and a place to discover what's at the heart of Chicago - great food. The deep dish pizza, the chicken, the cakes and pies, the Mexican...my mouth waters at the memory of my day exploring this food fan fair.Recommended for:

Each Summer from the end of June through the beginning of July tons of food vendors bring their treats out to the public and attract masses of foodies near the lake front. Prices can be high but is a fun 1 time thing you don't want to miss.Recommended for:

Sorry, we used to go there every year. Then they pumped up the prices and it is so congested, it is just not pleasant, we now go to ribfest in Naperville (way in the suburbs) instead. Great time for kids there at Ribfest and the entertainment for the kids are free including bull riding yes free (with entry fee)Recommended for:

Good event to experience at least ones in life. We bumped into this by sheer accident during our visit to Chicago. The event attracts a lot crowd from both in and outside Chicago. In each of the individual booth, a local restaurant/foodery show off their specialties in mini portions. Each dish is labeled with a price in 'food tickets'. You can buy food tickets from a central area to use in the whole fair. Great place to try out many new things all in a central place.

This event is absolutely fantastic! I had the chance to drop by one year and very happily gained at least 5 pounds. I was only in town for a few days, so it was a great experience. I would highly recommend trying to stop by Chicago while Taste is going on.
