Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants in Brentwood. Come here for pastries, craft cocktails, a meal or everything. I've had a wonderful time just hanging out at their bar and for dinner for my friend's birthday. The decor of the large space is modern and rustic, making it both fancy and casual at the same time. Though I haven't tried it, their brunch is popular here.

I did dine la here and it was 45 dollars before tip and tax for a delicious 3 course meal. The chicken liver, market fish and s'mores were so tasty! I also tried moules frites which was huge! This is a a shareable plate! I can see why president Obama dined here last year!

Tavern has excellent food and wine, great atmosphere, and great service. It's somewhere between casual and fancy. The chefs here are the great minds behind Lucques and AOC, two other awesome restaurants I love in LA. I love the aesthetic at Tavern: high glass ceilings, plush seats, and furnishings that remind me of Restoration Hardware. The food does not disappoint either. What we had: 1) Winter Squash Soup - Yummy--well-focused on the main star, why the squash itself (as opposed to heavy creams and spices). 2) Mushroom and Leek Tart - delicious! 3) Devil's Chicken - One of their signature dishes--crispy exterior with an extremely moist interior; very tasty with a surprising and pleasant dijon finish with every bite. 4) Pork Sous Vide - very tender and tasty. We found the two main courses a little on the salty side and rich to finish. But overall, it was still an excellent meal. Sadly, we didn't have room for the dessert, but I look forward to going back for another go anyway!

This place is pure class. Tavern has a stunning dining area with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and tons of natural light. The food isn't bad either! It's definitely on the pricier side, but if you want to treat yourself it's totally worth it.Recommended for:Art & Design Lovers

Went here for DineLA and had a great time. We were seated in the area that looks like a greenhouse, with lots of plants and a ceiling that looked like it could be retracted in nice weather. Service was a little on the slow side, but friendly and sincere, and besides, the place was packed. There were 2 of us, and we ordered the chicken liver with toast, market fish and the s'mores dessert from the DineLA menu and supplemented it with the moules frites from the regular menu. We enjoyed every dish, and although the entrees were in the mid-20s range, which is on the pricier side (all the DineLA entrees are on the regular menu so you can see how much they regularly charge) the portions were ENORMOUS. We both have healthy appetites, and moules frites is one of our favourite dishes, but we couldn't finish either the moules or the frites because they gave us such a heaping portion! S'mores were a tad sweet, but not at all heavy. Parking is a serious pain in this area, but they do have a valet for $4.50 with validation, which is reasonable in my book.
