Travis Katz CEO & Co-Founder
Travis is a passionate traveller who has been to more than 54 countries. Prior to founding gogobot, Travis ran the international business for MySpace, as well as IGN, Rotten Tomatoes and other Fox Interactive Media properties. During his tenure, Travis launched the MySpace business in 30 countries and grew the user base to nearly 70MM unique visitors. Prior to joining MySpace, Travis co-founded Fox Interactive Media, News Corp's digital arm. Travis spent several years doing high-tech work at McKinsey & Co, spent 4 years doing economic development work at the World Bank. Travis has an AB from Stanford and an MBA from Wharton.
Ori Zaltzman CTO & Co-Founder
Ori Zaltzman is a serial entrepreneur, technologist and road trip enthusiast. Ori was the chief architect of Yahoo! BOSS, and one of the lead technologists for Yahoo! Answers, in charge of content quality for one of the largest social platforms on the web. Ori co-founded 2 companies, utvee and Tailor Made Television. Tailor Made Television provided Interactive TV services to the 3 major cable companies in Israel, offering micropayments, multi-player gaming, chat and analytics. utvee is a startup focused on crowdsourced, contextual shopping services for major television shows.
Sharon K. Yapp Director of Product
Prior to Gogobot, Sharon was a product manager at MySpace for several key social products, including the User Homepage and MySpace/Twitter sync. She knew there had to be a better way to travel after her first trip to Europe which included--among other disasters--chasing her luggage from Florence to Milan, and booking a room for two that contained 4 beds (2 queens and 2 twins to be exact). Sharon holds a B.A. in Rhetoric and Political Science at UC Berkeley, and an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business. On the side, she specializes in traveling and snacking. It has been over a year since she quit World of Warcraft.
Kelly Schneider LeesDirector Marketing & Biz Dev
Kelly has spent the past twenty years launching businesses for media and consumer brands in the US, Europe and Africa. She held senior management roles as Executive Director of Global product marketing at America Online and Business Development for Microsoft Media Group. In the 1990s, Kelly led award winning consumer marketing efforts as Director of Marketing at Nike and as international marketing manager for Viacom. Prior to Gogobot Kelly founded online bespoke stationery company, Jane Press. Kelly earned an MBA from Wharton at University of Pennsylvania and has a B.A. from Kenyon College.Favorite city:Rio de Janeiro, Brasil Best travel memory:Swimming with whale sharks off the coast of Madagascar.
Eduardo SassoSenior Software Engineer
Prior to Gogobot, Eduardo was running his own company in Brazil and also working on side projects around some of his passions like travel and movies. When not hacking, Eduardo loves to explore new places to surf in northern California. He specializes in Web Development and is a enthusiast of minimalist design and simplicity.
Rodrigo SoaresDesigner & Software Engineer
Rodrigo is a designer by heart, UI/UX nerd and a type enthusiast.
In his prior life, he worked at MySpace designing many products and helping to take the front-end engineering to the next level. Once he got tired of the corporate world, he decided to help many startups. Now that he has joined Gogobot, he can wear his pixel ninja costume to work.
Emon TjokroDesigner & Front End Dev
Emon Tjokro is a guy that wear many hats for Gogobot, he is UI & UX designer and web developer at the same time. He has a passion for creating clean and creative experiences. Emon has been in the web design and development field for about 10 years, working at small and large internet shops including MySpace and McCann Erickson.
Connie ChangCommunity Development Manager
Prior to joining Gogobot, Connie reigned as Miss Silicon Valley Yelp and Miss Bay Area Loopt, where she thrived on connecting people with the best that the Bay Area offers (and fostering occasional love connections, as well). As a marketing guru, community builder, urban adventurer, writing queen and event planner extraordinaire, she helped both companies grow tremendously. Now that she's a Gogobotee, she plans to take her skills globally and help make Gogobot communities even more vibrant and fun. Connie holds a B.A. in Design from UCLA.
Jason FlegelCommunity & Content Coordinator
After a couple years working at a corporate law firm, he gave notice, packed a bag, and left the country to travel for 6 months. Back in the Bay Area, his chosen home city, he's put his travel experience, daring good looks, and tremendous writing skill to work, beginning his career as a travel writer/community coordinator with Gogobot. He's the guy who'd just love to hear from you about anything: issues with the site to how your day is going. Jason holds a B.A. in Sociology from The Colorado College, has quit World of Warcraft at least 10 times over the last 5 years, hates rain, loves swimming pools, and is the real-life inspiration for Sesame Street's Cookie Monster.
Julia PondAssociate Editor
Julia has called Rome, London, New York and Boston home, as well as traveled throughout Europe and South America. She began her editorial career working as an intern for guidebook author and travel writer Alex Leviton (Gogobot's Editorial Director) in 2009. She holds a BFA in Dance from Boston Conservatory and an MA in International Relations from St. John's University, Rome. Julia maintains a day job as a dancer and choreographer.
Yin XuMobile App Developer
Yin is a passionate mobile developer, he believes mobile apps can be used everywhere and every moment. Before Gogobot, Yin's working at one of the biggest Clinic Research Foundation in Wisconsin. He made an iOS App called "Heart Health Mobile", which was announced as the First Prize in the "Million Hearts Risk Check Challenge" sponsored by The Office of The National Coordinator of Health IT. He thinks great developer should not only focus on the parts users can see, but also pay a great attention on organizing their codes and projects in a good manner and a clear structure. Yin also loves to work with great developers, he thinks working with experienced developers is the best way to learn things.Favorite city:Shanghai (Home town) Best travel memory:All the trips he did with his best friend who loves travel more than anything and who passed away in 2013 of age 27. When I'm not traveling:Watch movies, write mobile apps, play video games, eating spicy foods.
