Across the road from Sunset Beach - Ted's is a North Shore instantiation. Pretty good coffee and the chocolate-coconut pie is as good as it sounds. The place to meet up, hang with locals and get ready to hit the surf.

Don't miss chowing down at Ted's Bakery at Sunset Beach, which is a short drive east of Haleiwa and Pipeline. This place does awesome local-style mixed-plate lunches that are huge enough for two people (or one very hungry surfer). Even better are the slices of pie, which you can get to go, like coconut, mac nut or chocolate-haupia pudding. So good!

I finally had the famous chocolate haupia cream pie from Ted's Bakery in North Shore... after having the Dole Pineapple Whip... and garlic shrimp at Giovanni's... AND shave ice with ice cream and azuki beans at Matsumoto. Please don't call me a fatty.
My friend, who grew up in Honolulu, was taking us on a food tour through North Shore, and she said a pit stop at Ted's was a MUST. Actually, we weren't really planning on going there, but when we drove past, she made an abrupt u-turn to stop there. And I must say, the whiplash was worth it!
The pie was absolutely to die for! We were all having crazy mouthgasms as we hovered over it in the car... the windows even started fogging up! Well, not really, but it was truly THAT amazing.
There were many other flavors, but stick to the chocolate haupia cream - you won't regret it. My ass is getting bigger just thinking about that sinful pie.

Located pretty much across from Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu, Ted's Bakery is well known and FAMOUS for it's desserts!
The Famous CHOCOLATE HAUPIA (coconut) CREAM PIE is the staple of Ted's, but their menu is so much more!
ALL THE DESSERTS, DONUTS, BREAKFAST are great here as well as Plate Lunches...Just pick something and try it...Trust me...it will be good...This is a well known hangout for locals and if you are a tourist and don't know about this place, you will probably just drive right by. It's not the most visually pleasing place and because of this if you are a tourist you may just pass on it...DON'T!!!
Great place to come for breakfast before you start your day on the North Shore...just expect to wait...it gets busy here!
May it be Breakfast or Lunch, if you don't finish your meal off with a Slice of CHOCOLATE HAUPIA (coconut) CREAM PIE you seriously just blew it...big time!

Whether you are heading up to Sunset beach to take in the day-closing light show, or have been up on the North Shore enjoying the sun and the sand all day, stopping in at Ted's Bakery is always a good idea. The place has a friendly vibe and a huge selection of both baked treats and main courses. The sandwiches, which are served up on their freshly made bread, are exceptionally delicious here, but as the name suggests, baked goods are the true draw. After a long day of running around on the beach or braving Oahu's legendary traffic, you deserve to treat yourself at sunset with a meal at Ted's.
