    Great American Music Hall

    4.5
    20 reviews

The great American Music Hall is one of those places you really must see to believe. I have seen many live shows here over my years but besides the awesome bands that have graced this stage the architecture is simply stunning. I just love these smaller venues for live shows because everything is so much more intimate and makes for ...

    Swig

561 Geary Street, San Francisco, CA
    4.5
    15 reviews

A posh bar with a posh crowd. On cold nights when it's not too crowded, Swig is amazing because of the roaring fireplace. I've only ever been here for events, and it's been a fine location as it also has two separate upstairs areas.

    The Warfield

    16 reviews

Along with the Fox Theater, The Warfield is one of my favorite music venues. It could be the nostalgia of seeing Flogging Molly here more than 3 or 4 times during high school, but the venue has such an intimate feel and great acoustics.

HELLO KITTY ROOM & FULL BAR. 'Nuff said! Pandora is the swankiest karaoke bar I have ever set foot in... and it doesn't even feel like you're in the Tenderloin once you're inside. There are 13 themed private rooms for your singing pleasure, including a huge bar and lounge area where you can also sing. All rooms fit at least ...

    Curran Theater

    4 reviews

Love this theater! It's so classic and historic, especially when The Phantom of the Opera plays there, as the building and interior very much resembles the musical itself a la the 1880s. The stage is smaller but it's perfect for the Phantom!

Mr. Lew's Win Win Bar & Grand Sazerac Emporium

    4.5
    3 reviews

The Sazerac is, hands down and feet flying up, my favorite cocktail in the world. Classic, rich, not too sweet and with New Orleans roots, it's a bit of all my favorite types of booze: whiskey, absinthe, bitters and (as Mister Lew's house Sazerac includes) cognac. One can also opt for their alternate Sazerac recipe, made solely of rye whiskey ...

    Cairo Nights

829 Geary Street, San Francisco, CA

    2 reviews

My first real Hookah experience was at Cairo and I enjoyed it. Took me a few tries to figure out how to inhale properly. I don't really care for the flavors but blowing bubbles sure was fun. It was a great place to just chill and socialize with your friends. I actually prefer this over the typical bar scene. They ...

Cool bar with a cool staff and cool vibe. We walked in at 130PM on a Saturday afternoon and hung out a bit. They had a bunch of Whiskeys, Bourbon, Scotch, you name it. Lots of different brands of a varied price range. The bartender asked us what our price range was and asked if we wanted it on the ...

This is a really amazing art space located in the Tenderloin. I had been watching them build The Shooting Gallery for some time, transforming some old something-else into the large exhibition space it is now. I attending a magazine release party a few nights ago and had a really great time. The art they present is all very modern and ...

Got a $100 gift certificate here thanks to SHN. (Remember to participate in those text quizzes next time you watch a show.) The restaurant was fairly energetic on Saturday night. Not difficult to see why since it is located in a prime location. It is not one of those places you would have too much trouble getting a table without ...

Gayle and I have been to the ACT a few times, including the performance of Gem of the Ocean and other productions. It's a grand Theater space, with high production values, and world class actors. And we really should take the time to experience the artistic jewel more often. Yet, when you take into account Berkeley Rep, our annual trip ...
