Famous for Dollywood (Dolly Parton's amusement park), and its proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge has become a town of relentless tourist hokum and pure tackiness, going over the top with its country-pioneer theme to the point of self-parody. The picture is way off, Murfreesboro is the landlocked center of Tenn. The nearest body of water is a mill pond in Lascassas, TN. It's also where I went to college. MTSU Class of 1988. 33 miles south of Nashville, Murfreesboro is a quiet little college town.
