Beautiful spot. This hotel sits on the bluffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, with sweeping views of the pacific. The hotel is done in traditional Spanish style, with red tile roof, terra cotta floor tiles and palm trees. Great for a weekend escape - I felt like I was transported to the Italian Riviera. The beds are comfortable and the rooms spacious.

This giant, deluxe resort has so much going on you never have to leave, which is fine by me. The location is beautiful, right on a dramatic rugged ocean point. Nature trails smell like sagebrush and salt air. It’s a super place for kids. The family pool has a fun, giant slide. The activities are action-packed like kayaking, paddleboarding, horseback riding and even live falconry! But we could come back just for the tidepools alone. While kids can go off and adventure I can also get away at the spa and adult pool, and I had one of the most romantic dinners ever at the restaurant Mar’sel. It overlooks the ocean and the food and fine wine really impressed me. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, but not stunning—however with such spectacular nature all around I just wanted to be out exploring anyway.

A neat oceanfront hotel near LA & OC yet it feels like an island when you are inside. Great place for a couples getaway or family vacation. The pools are perfect with a little water slide. Bring marshmallows, chocolate bar, graham crackers and skewers to make smores at the fire pit near the pool. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, Nelson's has a beautiful view with fresh seafood. Mar'sel is a fine dining restaurant with delicious, eye catching deserts.

This fun-in-the-sun resort is, simply put, amazing. I love coming here and just losing track of time. I spent most of my time at the adult pool getting some sunshine, but I also enjoyed just walking around the resort.

They allow pets so that is a HUGE selling point for me, I prefer not to travel without my dog....so this was a bonus to bring her with me. When you check in with a pet they put you on a ground floor room so you have easy access outside, which was great.....I think I prefer having my own door outside anyways!

The views from Terranea are amazing, and one must walk down to the foot of the cliff/hill to look at the water....it's great!

This place is definitely a resort/retreat type of place. With great views of the ocean and rich red cliffs, you'll get plenty of gorgeous scenic shots. There's even a trail that goes down to the sea so you can walk along it. The property is expansive and includes the hotel, spa, and restaurants, along with other amenities.

It's rather out of the way from everything and isn't close to any freeway, which might be why it's so peaceful to come here. There's a park nearby that you can park at for free to enjoy the area. I believe they also have villas that you can rent as a sort of vacation home. Also a really nice place to have a wedding!

I just love this place. One could drive up, park their car and walk around the property and enjoy the magnificent views for free. There is a hotel, spa and restaurants on the property.

Beautiful local getaway. If you can't afford to stay there, you can still come onsite, eat lunch, walk around.

The Terranea is one of the most gorgeous, truly resort-like hotels in Greater Los Angeles. That said, it feels like a getaway because it is, but don’t let the road trip be a deterrent; much of it is very pretty. In fact, if you are driving straight from LAX, you don’t even need to get on a freeway. Best of all, because of the unique architecture here, you can see both sunrise and sunset over the water.

In addition to regular guest rooms, there are also private bungalows, casitas and villas. I like that they all feature balconies. Activities include golf, three pools (one is adults-only), beach access and nature trails. While there several restaurants onsite, mar’sel is tops. In fact, I’d say it’s on par with the best in the city. Bashi is also nice for casual Asian-fusion. I like the fire pit at Nelson’s, though it’s sometimes a party scene.

Havent stayed overnight...but frequent for brunch and their par 3. The resort grounds are something special....set on the edge of the planet. Endless lawns/paths to walk while taking in the view. Enjoy a drink by the fire pit at their casual restaurant....then head to dinner at one of their other, finer eateries.
