One of the world's truly great cities and one of my favorite regular destinations. The seedy image it has among some Westerners is underserved. Bangkok certainly has a dark underbelly but only if that's what you look for. Great sights, phenomenal food. and exceedingly friendly people.

Another lovely former capital city of Thailand. Features temples and monuments. Great photo opportunities. Along the river, this area was called Venice of the East back in the day. Personally, I love like along the river and have long wanted to take a day trip from Bangkok using a river taxi service to reach Ayutthaya. I think that would be ...

    Phuket Town

I did not have many expectations about this city, maybe this is why i enjoyed so much. Few tourists, a calm small city, with great sino-portuguese architecture everywhere. Some nice bars and caffes.

    Koh Chang

    21 reviews

I would recommend you to visit Kho Chang, this paradise-like island, not too touristy with emerald sea and perfect view. If you have time you need to consider to visit both bangkok and chiang mai since they have very different textures. bangkok is a very crowded and chaotically beautiful city where everyone finds something from himself. and chiang mai is ...

    Koh Tao

amed for its diving – shallow waters, easy currents, epic corals and whale sharks pull in the crowds – with numerous scuba-diving schools based here. But much of this small island still has a tranquil get-away-from-it-all vibe

    Ao Nang

    13 reviews

If you're looking for all that southern Thailand beach towns have to offer, want to avoid the masses looking for the same thing, but yet don't completely want to miss out on the nightlife thing, Ao Nang is for you. Completely across the Gulf from Phuket and just onshore of Ko Phi Phi, Ao Nang delivers all of "The Beach" ...

    Koh Lipe

    11 reviews

Lonely planet says 'if Ko Phi Phi broke your hippie heart, head over to Koh Lipe'. I'd have to agree. Ko Phi Phi is a bit of a mess though still with much to be enjoyed. Ko Lipe is more chill. Reach the island by boat. Once on the island, there are three main beaches to choose from for accomodations. ...

Ko Phangan is beautiful as an island, but there are a lot of factors that detract from it. If you are going to party - you've come to the right place. Just be careful - buddy up, know where you are staying, have a plan if you get separated from your friends. Party responsibly? If you have Not come to ...

This beach town used to be a private getaway for Thai royalty. Nowadays, the beaches are flooded on weekends by Bangkok's young and trendy. Nice beaches, quaint town, good restaurants—a perfect way to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Kanchanaburi is a lovely province within easy reach of Bangkok for a day or weekend trip. My favorite way is to take an excursion train from Bangkok. Often it will make tourist stops along the way. Discuss with a travel agent for details. Back to Kan, it is a lovely and diverse province. There is WWII history, river rafting, trekking, ...

    Samut Prakan

    5 reviews

The province south of Bangkok has some really cool sights if you find yourself in the area, but is probably not high on the list of 'must-sees' when you are in the Bangkok area. I worked in Bang Plee, Samut Prakan for 6 months so I had a few peeks around the area I worked, so if you find yourself ...
