Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

Great hotel and right on the river. Used to be a Marriott and has plenty of restaurants including a Trader Vic's. Only negative is that you can't walk into town. They do a have a free ferry that leaves every 30min to Asiatique night market. Don't miss their spa and dinner cruise.

    The Shore at Katathani

    Class:
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 94% of guests recommend

Way down at the southwest tip of the island are Kata and Kata noi beaches, and this is where The Shore is. It was about an hour and a half trip from the airport with traffic and 45min without. However once there you're in a great location on one of the nicest beaches in Phuket and within 30 min of ...

    Anantara Bangkok Sathorn

    Anantara Bangkok Sathorn

    7 reviews
Excellent! - 85% of guests recommend

The executive lounge at this hotel--with an unbelievable and relatively private view of the Sathorn skyline--almost makes me want to be an executive. This is one of the best business hotels we saw in the city, and if a company were going to put me up for a while, I’d look into the longer-term residences here that share the facilities ...

    Banyan Tree Bangkok

    Banyan Tree Bangkok

    Class:
    14 reviews
Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

I booked this after having stayed at a Banyan Tree resort in Mexico (not on my own dime!), and I wanted somewhere well-known and easy to get to in which to recuperate from our massive set of transpac flights. It's far less pricey than a BT resort, and also a bit less flashy--more like an upscale business hotel. But lovely ...

    Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

    Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

    Class:
    8 reviews
Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

This hotel has some history and prestige, neoclassical marble décor, and a lobby filled with trees and live classical music. The music is a nice touch. The Erwan shrine is just on the corner and has an interesting story that’s connected to the hotel’s past: http://www.heartofbangkok.com/en/shrine_main.aspx Right now (July 2012) they’re undergoing construction on some of the floors but are ...

Lovely eco spa resort with an informal and pleasant staff. This is a compact property but they do make the most of the space and facilities. Pro tip grab a villa with private pool for ultimate privacy and luxury. Great option for group gatherings and those seeking mid-priced luxe on the island. Good budget option in a convenient location. The pool is lovely and the gym is top notch. Located in the center of Siam Square. Very easy access to transport and easy walking distance from many shops / restaurants as well as Jim Thompson. For breakfast, worth paying the supplement to eat at the more secluded poolside restaurant..

    The Sukhothai Bangkok

    The Sukhothai Bangkok

    Class:
    15 reviews
Excellent! - 91% of guests recommend

The Sukhothai is one of the best hotels in Bangkok. The serene courtyard gardens can be admired from bed—it is such a treasure in the bustling financial district in Bangkok. The'Celadon' restaurant adjunct to the property is remarkable. It serves a great collection of modern traditional Thai flavors on a wonderfully quaint setting. It was named the "Best Restaurant in ...

    Chao Koh Phi Phi Lodge

    Chao Koh Phi Phi Lodge

    23 reviews
Mediocre - 60% of guests recommend

Secluded island, white sands and gorgeous clear-blue waters: this is one of my favorite places in the world. It's better than Phuket. It's still a bit touristy, but quiet enough to be an oasis. Bring snacks before you hit the island, though—there aren't many convenience marts (if any at all), and you'll eat most of your meals at the restaurant ...

    Lebua at State Tower

I spent an awkward Christmas Eve here in 2010. I had booked this hotel as the culmination of a trip across Thailand & Vietnam hoping to end on the most romantic of romantic notes. While the romantic note resounded more as a platonic note, I can't fault the hotel. The view was the best I had seen- there is nothing ...

Its definitely a favorite. I like the Penninsula rooms too but the convenience of being on the Mandarin's side of the river makes it perfect. The Mandarin Spa is also really, really nice. Beautiful matched by a great staff.
