Tucked into a Bloomsbury townhouse, the Academy Hotel does the British literary vibe to a tee. Fireplaces and striped wallpaper distinguish the 49 rooms, while the small size means personalized service. This is also a great location for exploring Soho and Bloomsbury.Recommended for:

This boutique hotel has a cozy reception area with piled carpets and iron fireplaces, along with a very friendly staff. The rooms are not huge but very charming. There's no restaurant, but 24 hour room service is at your beck and call, tea in the greenhouse slash cafe is a pleasure, and its location in Bloomsbury is perfect for exploring London.Recommended for:

The Academy Hotel is a stunning property across from London’s School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Located within a 10 minute walk of Euston Square under/over ground station, 5 minutes of Goodge Street station and is close to a number of University College of London buildings, I found this to be a fantastic location for transportation. Additionally it is on the corner of Store St., home to a number of Café’s, and independent shops (the coffee at Store St. Espresso is delicious).
This 300-year-old property is located in the town house style buildings that line Grower Street. With rooms in a number of sizes accommodating up to 4 people per room this hotel can fit both individuals and groups. The rooms all have modern en-suites, flat screen TV’s, and clock radios that will dock and charge 30pin iPods and iPhones. As well, wifi is complementary for guests throughout the hotel.
While breakfast doesn’t come standard with booking, when reserving rooms online there are package options, which will include it, as well breakfast can be charged by the day. The Academy also has a number of guest lounges and gardens where guests can relax, socialise and eat breakfast, as well as a bar in the basement.
The staff were quick to accommodate and incredibly helpful. I would be more than willing to stay here myself, or place my family here.

A superb retreat set on a beautiful collection of five Georgian townhouses in the heart of Bloomsbury district in Central London. Its extremely elegant 49 rooms are all spacious, individually decorated in a stunning traditional English style and feature modern communication apparatus. The lower-ground rooms are not as airy. A delicious, though slightly overpriced, breakfast buffet is served at the restaurant downstairs by the hotel bar, which offers classic cocktails and drinks. An incredibly beautiful and relaxing garden with a pond is secretly set in the serene courtyard behind the Conservatory and Library lounges. The overnight romantic lodging with fresh flowers, chocolates, scented bubble bath and champagne is a superb delight. Wi-Fi Internet is complementary, the service is superb and accommodations well-priced. Six modestly sized meeting/seminar rooms are available for private hire. The hotel is close to the British Museum, BT Tower, the British Library, Covent Garden, Soho, and the famous Oxford and Regent shopping streets.
