Attentive service and attention to detail throughout the Amspersand Hotel distinguish this boutique property, opened in 2012. Each room type is decorated according to a theme like music or astronomy, and design touches like the TVs in bathrooms make this an inviting place to settle in for a soak and a good night's sleep.

This five star independent hotel has lots to recommend it. Steps from South Ken tube, its decor is inspired by the nearby museums and each tier of room has a theme, such as music, planets, or even ornithology (birds, to the common man or woman). The restaurant is beautifully presented in white tile and colourful leather seats, there's a signature cocktail list and a fitness room where you can work the libations off. This last is a touch small, but hey. Wifi is free, service is personable and down to earth, and each room features, in addition to typical features like an iPod dock and robe/slippers and minibar, a book on your nightstand corresponding to the room's theme and.... A rubber ducky.

Warm and stunning hotel beautifully decorated, with incredibly attentive and helpful chatty staff that truly love their job. Located steps from South Kensington Station. This hotel is not only beautiful but convenient.
The property itself has a restaurant and a café/salon inside which are beautiful and tie in seamlessly with the design of the hotel. This design is one that flows throughout the entire property. The walls are covered with diagrams and information, while each set of rooms, suites, delux suites etc. have additional themes that are incorporated using colours, and decorations (art and books) that match each theme.
The rooms shown to me were stunning, each getting better than the last. Ranging from pretty standard looking double to their terraced suite that has a TV for the bath tub and a reception area. All of the rooms are equipped with 30 pin docking stations next to the bed for iPods or iPhones, and each room comes with juice and water in the mini bar as well as robes to enjoy during your stay.
Overall this hotel is more or less my dream accommodation.

This is a very friendly and comfortable boutique hotel, right in South Kensington. Prices are very reasonable, at least for now and the hotel is only about a year old, so everything seems quite clean and new. Despite the fact that my room overlooks a busy street, I have slept incredibly well here, thanks to the incredibly comfortable bed. The full English breakfast was overwhelmingly salty, but basically, the food at the Ampersand is quite good. I love that the non-alcoholic items in the minibar are free-- such a nice touch. I have yet to use the tv in my bathtub, but I appreciate the fact that it's there and I love the Miller Harris toiletries. I am here for work and am traveling alone, so I was not looking for a romantic place to stay, but I have seen some very happy looking couples here and this hotel is definitely great for solo travelers. The business center is very useful and my room has plenty of plugs and a nice desk. The friendly staff are the reason I am giving this hotel five stars instead of four-- they go above and beyond and it really makes a difference.Recommended for
