    Scott Monument

A rather attractive monument located near one of the large public gardens in Edinburgh near Waverly station. It's a nice fixture on the horizon and I believe you can climb it too. Unfortunately I was unable to investigate that last part fully.

I love the feel of both the new and old towns of Edinburgh. Both have a lovely feeling of days gone by. I spent almost all my walking time within these two neighborhoods.

Really liked the National Portrait Gallery. They offer self-guided tours based on different themes. I took one based on people with disabilities and it added really interesting context to what might have been flat portraits of random people. I also like the area of Scottish scientists with the large portrait of three contemporary Scottish scientists/doctors being the highlight. They have ...

First of all, no idea why the address is in Dublin but anyway... I was really looking forward to this one and found it a bit sad how out of date and shabby it was. I understand it's a free museum but at what point do you start charging a small fee just for the upkeep. The downstairs was especially ...

Princes Street is full of shops and bustling businesses. It's certainly interesting to walk about, but it didn't act as much of a draw as other areas of the city. I tended more so to avoid Princes Street altogether.

What a great show and performance by some of the world's best military bands. Some of the countries represented were Norway, Canada, USA, Australia, England, and Scotland, just to name a few. Performances ranged from bands playing traditional songs, popular Disney song, dancing, projections on the Castle, the Jubilee Crown, and fireworks. It was a wonderful show and very entertaining ...

Absolutely great tour of the underground history of Edinburgh. The guides are not only entertaining they are incredibly knowledgeable about this history of the City and the Close. While initially I thought this was meant to be quite a scary tour, I was mistaken. Overall worth the cost as the money goes to the maintenance of the Close and surrounding ...

It's a striking monument off of Princes Street and near the gardens. It has a gothic architecture that works well with the buildings and churches of Old Town.

Why Not is a run of the mill basement nightclub in trendy George St. There's couple of seating areas & huge dance floor. Cheap drink deals & cheesy pop music! £5 entry but be prepared to queue to get in! Busy at weekends but popular with students mid-week.

A massive park in the middle of the city where families, students, young and old hang out. There's football games, frisbee games, people having bbq's, sunbathing. Obviously these are mostly summer activities, but even in winter, there's always people walking through or making snowmen
