Find Hotels in The Bay Islands:

First discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1502, the Bay Islands have been an important stopping point for visitors ever since. Having been held as colonies at various times by the Spanish, the Dutch and the British, the Bay Islands have a decidedly more Caribbean than Central American feel. British English, rather than Spanish, is widely spoken. Today, the islands primary draw are its soft sand beaches and its underwater delights - the islands border the Mesoamerican barrier reef, the 2nd largest reef in the world after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The islands offer plenty of accommodation options, from high end hotels, resorts and vacation rentals, to low cost guest houses and B&Bs.
