The Bentley is lively and in the heart of the action. It's right on Ocean Drive and it's so Miami you can practically taste the perfume and ego in the air. The rooms are clean and bright and the rooftop pool has a pretty sweet view. The onsite TGIF is lame but great for families terrified of calamari and ethnic food. The place is decent but kind of awkwardly positioned. I had to almost walk through the kitchen to get to my room. It's also very loud at night, so if you're in Miami to party you should be okay.Recommended for:

Even though this hotel is on Ocean Drive, it’s at the southern end, which is a bit quieter than other stretches, and the hotel’s entrance is up on the second floor, which makes it more private. (Guests have to buzz downstairs to be let in by the round-the-clock front desk attendant.) Rooms have full kitchens or kitchenettes but there is also a continental breakfast served in the lobby and the balcony overlooking the park and ocean. There are even better, more panoramic, views up on the rooftop pool deck. The suites are good for family getaways, as they have pullout couches and comfy residential-style furniture. The Bentley does charge a resort fee of $25 per two people per night, but that includes the continental breakfast, blazing fast Internet access, towels for the pool and two lounge chairs at the nearby Bentley Beach Club. It’s the kind of boutique hotel I’d recommend to my parents, aunts and uncles.Recommended for:

Charming Ocean Drive hotel currently going under an expansive renovation. I just love the wood paneled walls and photos of glamorous Old Hollywood starlets adorning the walls. I feel richer just walking in. What I loved about this hotel is that you can't hear a peep from busy Ocean Drive downstairs. The rooms are equipped with either a kitchen or a kitchenette, and the rooms are particularly large for the location. I loved the structure of the building, with a courtyard in the middle and everyone's balcony spiraling up. Upstairs on the roof, there is the newly minted pool, with a perfect view of the beach. The chic and friendly staff are happy to direct you off Ocean Drive and to the area's best dining.Recommended for:

Wow, stay on Ocean Drive yet have all the comforts of home. The full kitchen suites of this hotel are amazing! I was also really impressed with the all hardwood interior, it gives the place a much more scholarly and refined feel than you'd expect from South Beach. This is the ideal place if you want to be in the center of beach activity, yet have a refuge of comfort and civility to retreat to at a moments notice. Seriously, while staying here, I'm happy with going the beach, chilling at the amazing rooftop pool deck on top of the hotel, drinking mega-cocktails at the Bellini sidewalk cafe/bar right out front, and I'm good. I don't need any more of South Beach than what's right at my doorstep here at the Bentley. Perfect.
