Cafe by day - with tasty lunches and lots of people hunched over MacBooks. Hipster Lounge / club by night with fun themed nights and the like. Very Shoreditchy place - lots of weird art and ping pong tables. (Which I love)

It had been a long time since I went to a place where you actually stand in line to get in. We're probably talking about ten years or so. Good thing the line was pretty short and the electro swing music was so fun that I danced all night. The cocktails are good, the bartenders friendly, the crowd very cute, which, in addition to great music, make this a fun night out. They schedule different things each week, and also serve food, so check to see what's on before you go.

Interesting pub with a spacious layout and friendly staff. Ping pong tables in one corner for those keen. When I visited there were a few people chilling with their earphones and Macs, seems like I place to just kick back and relax. They have a good menu but I only tried the potato wedges (which were unremarkable). Lots of things happening downstairs, the Blues dancing was quite busy when I visited.

I'm probably damning it with faint praise but I'd describe Book Club as 'fine' yet unexceptional. I like it well enough - the drinks are decent, the music's OK and it's always busy, to the extent that there are often queues to get in. Big mix of people, from Silicon Roundabout-types to City boys.

Good for average after-work drinks, but I wouldn't make a special journey.

The overall venue was not bad, if a bit small and dank. Certainly not the worst bar I've ever been too but not the best either.

They have a ceiling made entirely out of lightbulbs, what more could you possibly ask for? Pricey and generally hard to get a seat unless you're prepared to do some serious loitering but well worth it... try the Nacho's, only time I've ever been prepared to accept them as a valid meal.

Great atmosphere, delicious wine and drinks, and ping pong...what more can you ask for? Looking forward to going back to one of their blues nights!

The Book Club not only do delicious and well named cocktails, they are great for doing things differently. Let's not just host a royal jubilee party, let's throw a street festival. Let's not just show the Olympics, let's take over the car park across the road and make it into an event. All their club nights are different which is brilliant. If there is a big event in the UK (like a royal wedding or the olympics kind of big) then this is the place to celebrate it!

Where else do you have a place where you can get great food, drink, games, and go during morning, afternoon and into the next morning? There aren't many places like this that do it all and do it right. They had a fantastic decor for the Olympics, and even a special outdoors bonanza complete with face-hole opportunities and food trucks. Go to this place.

Great atmosphere, excellent mulled cider and table tennis, what's not to like? Email them to get on the guest list on Fridays and Saturdays
