Arrived at Boon Fly Café during the afternoon was perfect timing for lunch before heading to our winery tour in St. Helena.
Started off with warm wild arugula salad and dungeness crab cake. Both tasted delicious especially the bits and pieces of pancetta and goat cheese on the salad. The starter alone made me feel full.
Onto the main was Ohlone smoked salmon flatbread with a side of capers. The portion was HUGE! We also ordered the chicken and waffles as well. Looking at the massive portion of food on the table made my belly wanted to burst into tears of joy.
I could see the table next to us staring at our food with their jaws dropping in amazement. Little did you know, they ordered exactly the same thing. I happened to asked if they liked their food, but I already knew what they would say.
Overall, this place was great. Thank you for filling my belly with tasty food and a wonderful attentive service. I'll be seeing you soon again, I promise!

Located in Carneros Inn, Boon Fly is the casual and less expensive dining option at the luxury resort. Our group of eight was seated at the large dining table in the middle of the quaint and barnyard chic space. Their menu reflects the same modern rustic theme, and offers a nice selection of comfort foods.
We started with several appetizers, including beer battered sweet onion rings, hot wings, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries -- all very tasty. The moment I saw the fried chicken on the menu, I knew that was what I was going to order. And I'm so glad I did! The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. It was a half chicken split up in three pieces. I barely touched the huge dollop of mashed potatoes and cucumber salad on the side. A very, very close runner up to Ad Hoc's fried chicken. I also tried a few bites of a corned beef reuben sandwich, which was fantastic.
For dessert, I could only manage to have a bite of the banana cobbler, which was amazing. The famous donuts with chocolate dipping sauce were so cute but looked evil, so I just watched my friend ravage them.
Their specialty cocktails were also very good. Get the pear lavender martini if you like sweet and aromatic drinks. The peppermint pattie rum drink tasted just like a York.
The service was great, and nice to not kick out our increasingly inappropriate and rowdy group.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers
