The hotel is in a great location, although the rooms feel a bit worn. Overall our stay was good but not great.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience at the Park Plaza. The rooms smelled a little, since they are older, but the concierge is very helpful and the location is perfect: you are right by the Boston Common and a T-stop for the metro. There are also several restaurants nearby. Great for those looking to sightsee.

The Park Plaza Hotel is more like a small city than a hotel. Almost anything you could want is in the same building. Take restaurants, for example. There are three different ones on site – an Irish pub, a seafood spot, and a fondue place. There’s also the Statler Lounge located inside the hotel’s lobby, its entrees are surprisingly affordable with most in the $12-20 range. The hotel itself is also surprisingly affordable, though still fairly luxurious. The lobby is large and expansive; it even has a shoeshine station. The hotel’s staff was extremely friendly and informative, and took time to help us even though it was fairly busy (which is a given considering the hotel has nearly 1,000 rooms). The rooms are nice, and just the right size. The bathrooms, however, aren’t much to write home about.

“Huge” and "ornate” are the two words that spring to mind when I think of the Park Plaza Hotel. Though it’s by no means the hugest or most ornate hotel in Boston, there are lots of facilities on-site, from the in-house restaurant to a Melting Pot near one of the building’s three entrances. There’s even a shoe-shine station. The staff is incredibly friendly and will make jokes with you rather than just pretend to be polite. The primary focus of this establishment is its immense size and availability as a center for different events, everything from golf expos to green energy to “The International Boston Seafood Show”. Part of the fun of staying here is seeing what groups are in town for what event (when we went there was, I think, a college model UN staying there). This does mean that you’re likely to run into crowds, though you can always check the hotel’s online event calendar and try to plan ahead.

A comfortable outdated stay on a great location. This hotel might have been luxurious/glamorous about 20yrs ago. Despite the bed comfort, the room ambiance was stuffy along with worn carpeting. It is by Newbury Street/Boylston shopping areas, the Boston commons and trolley stop. The property is nice; it just needs upgrade its rooms which are overvalued at the present condition (as of 2006). A more modern property will certainly be more appealing.
