Now a Doubletree Hilton, the 'Old Burlo' hotel is exactly what you want in a business hotel. Close to town and within walking distance of a few pubs and restaurants, the hotel is also walking distance from a beautiful canal. It's attached to a large conference center (I was there for a conference), so there are a lot of business ...

Mediocre Mediterranean. Popular but not really worth a visit unless you are here for a long time and need a change of pace. The decor is nice and the staff are friendly.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse And Grill

Slightly over priced for what you get. Make sure and go for the early bird that makes it a bit more reasonable. Giving it 3 stars for the chicken wings would go just for them. Was left waiting slightly too long for desert - New York Cheesecake - which was pretty small size but tastey.

    Gasworks Bar

    0.74 mi from The Burlington
    1 review

Attached to the Grand Canal hotel, the Gasworks Bar is a good place to grab a pint, have some food, and catch a rugby match. It's doesn't have the charm of a "traditional" Irish Bar, but if you're in the neighborhood, it's a good place to catch up with friends.

Queen of Tarts (Cork Hill location)

Odd teacups and little wee tables, this is a truely charming cafe. Serving breakfast, lunch and sweet treats it is often tricky to find seat, but it is well worth the wait. In particular the Red Onion, Potato, Cheddar Cheese & Rosemary Tart and the Plum Tart are fantastic!

    Winding Stair Bookshop & Cafe

    1.19 mi from The Burlington
    5 reviews

I'm not sure how the bookshop and cafe are related, but they're both great. The shop is one of a very few (two? three?) independent bookstores in Dublin. The food at the restaurant is of the simple-but-amazing variety, the kind that makes you think (mistakenly) that you could do it at home.

The standard for Irish Fish and Chips, as they say Leo's is the oldest chipper in the city! I had the luck of being there, to have my first Irish fisha dn chips, on the celebration of their 100 year anniversary! A classic at a great price!

    Gallaghers Boxty House

    1.1 mi from The Burlington

This traditional Irish restaurant is located in the Temple Bar district. Great atmosphere and excellent service. I enjoyed the Chicken and Smoked Bacon Boxty which is a free range chicken filet in a creamy smoked bacon and leek sauce wrapped in a traditional Leitrim Boxty (potatoe) Pancake. The beef stew was also amazing. This is a must stop for lunch ...
