Adopted into the Autograph family and managed by Marriott, the Carlton Hotel is a true reflection of luxury, swank, and customer service excellence in the form of a boutique hotel for a reasonable price. The rooms are spacious compared to NYC hotel standards, the beds are plush and very comfortable, the hotel decor captures class from multiple eras, and the staff are terrific!

The lobby's sky-high ceilings and sprawling reception area makes this luxury hotel seem even more luxe than its price might indicate—that, and its prime location in the Flatiron District on Madison Avenue. The rooms themselves are typical of a hotel of this class and price: modern, clean, spacious, comfortable, with high-quality linens and bath amenities. The bathroom is more spacious than most, and it has a sort of vintage feel to it because of the gold faucet handles and marble sink countertop. Complimentary Wifi and a 24-hour fitness center are nice perks as well. The Carlton's proximity to the Herald Square shopping area and Madison Square Park (Shake Shack, anyone?) makes the hotel a great headquarters for shopping and food adventures in NYC.

I love staying at this hotel when I come to NY. It's a AAA 4-diamond hotel and service has always been impeccable. The decor is beautiful and luxe everywhere from the lobby to the bathrooms. Even the fitness centre is fairly decent for a hotel fitness centre. Location is unbeatable - it's in the Flatiron and just a stone's throw from the iconic Flatiron building, Madison Square Park, and Mario Batali's food emporium, Eataly. Subway stops on 28th and 29th.
