Room rates are high for what is worth. Room doors need a paint jobs. My room's bathroom wallpaper had yellow stains and some of the wallpaper was coming off. For $300. a night for a standard room, I was expecting ALOT more than what I got. I didn't even have a microwave in my room.
The elevators also need some paint maintenance. There were scratches on the elevators. However, the staff was very nice and helpful. For my room disappointment, I was offered a later check-out (after 11am) which was no good for me so they gave me a $30. credit to use at their diner, TEPLITZKY'S. Their dinner was one of the Best things of my stay. Breakfast was Delish and the service was Superb.

The Chelsea is the only hotel in Atlantic City without a casino, so you have to go next door to the Tropicana to gamble. C5 is the nightclub and gets really crowded on weekend nights during summer. Friday nights have weekly events with celebrity DJs and Saturday nights have DJs from New York City, Las Vegas and Miami. This is a great night out without having to go to one of the mega clubs. There's a great pool on the rooftop and cabanas for rent. There's even a salt water pool in the Sea Spa. The Sea Spa solarium is right next door and open to all guests offering a steam room, sauna and hot tub. Teplitzky's is a great diner for affordable food and drinks, though it seems like their hours are a little erratic.

The Chelsea is the first non-gambling hotel on the boardwalk in over 40 years. Teplitzky's is a casual yet upscale retro diner, that has great Bloody Mary's and serves breakfast all day, for very affordable prices and huge portions. If you are out on a date, Chelsea Prime is located on the 5th floor and a 1940s themed supper club, with most entrees priced at $30 and up. Be sure to check out the old black and white Atlantic CIty pictures hanging on the walls. After dinner walk over to C5, the nightclub, and rent a private cabana with bottle service. All of the cabanas surround the rooftop pool, and this is certainly one of the best people watching places in the city during summer evenings. The Chelsea Luxe rooms are nice, and obviously the suites are even nicer. If you are looking for a more affordable and casual stay, check out the Annex, connected to The Chelsea, and no less stylish. When I got the urge to gamble, I walked a half a block to either the Tropicana or the Atlantic Club, depending how my luck was going that day.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

This hotel was fantastic! We stayed here with my husband in July 2010. The room we had overlooked the beach and the boardwalk, it was clean with modern furnishings. The location is at the beginning of the boardwalk, but it was fun walking down the boardwalk every morning to get some breakfast. The cafe in the hotel does not have the greatest food, so its worth going a wander around. The pool area is fantastic. We spent most of our lazy summer days here having a swim and getting some sun. There are little cabana's available with plasma TV's. When the football world cup was playing we watched the games from these cabana's. Would definately recommend staying here.
