I think my coolness ratio went up 11% just by hanging out in here. The 18th century church was decommissioned and turned into a nightclub in the basement, a bar on the main floor, and a swanky restaurant on the second floor. There are plenty of tables on all three floors, so you'll have plenty of room, even though the place feels full and hopping.

Built in the beginning of the 18th century, Dublin's St. Mary's church served as an outstandingly beautiful galleried cathedral, with a two-story Renatus Harris organ and stained glass windows, for generations, but in 2005, after several extensive renovations, the space was reopened as a chic bar and restaurant. Now called "The Church Bar and Restaurant," patrons can admire the exquisite architecture of the historic Irish landmark while enjoying a choice selection of spirits. There aren't any worshipers kneeling behind pews--just thirsty modern day travelers who like a little atmosphere.
Either way the holy spirit is still alive and well here in this revered space.

Definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere, gets extremely busy on the weekend and service can understandably lack some because of that, but a great place to meet up with friends for a drink or bite.

If you are in Dublin, you must stop by the church. Filled with musicians, dancers, and a lovely staff, this restaurant/bar is very friendly. From irish stew to monkfish, the food is outstanding (try the chicken and chocolate fondant!). Check it out!

The venue is memorable. An old church that was re-purposed as a restaurant/bar. So, you have the grand architecture and sweeping open spaces of an old Irish church while the layout creates intimate tables for patrons. The menu offered some outstanding items but also included some mediocre ones. Overall, well worth the trip.
