I was so pleasantly surprised by how lovely the Sugar Hill Harlem Inn was. The owner lives in the property and has made many improvements to this 1900s single family home. Continental breakfast is served family-style in this beautiful room on the main floor at a large dining table. There are stacks of books in the same room for guests ...

This is where the cool kids hang out. You cannot call yourself a New Yorker unless you stepped inside the exclusive world of The Standard Hotel High Line. Located in the affluent Meatpacking District, André Balazs’ line of Standard hotels raised the bar a little higher for its High Line establishment. Built above street level, on top of a former ...

The Plaza Hotel is another of New York's great luxury palaces. It excels the Waldorf-Astoria in location: it stands magnificently at the southeast corner of Central Park along Fifth Avenue. Mostly I think of it as the hotel where Kevin Arnold spends his week in New York during Home Alone 2.

A mammoth conference hotel in midtown. Let's start with the fact that I really detest large hotels such as this. The rooms are fine. The fitness area is fairly basic and uninspiring. The room service takes a long time. There is no charm. But, it's located in midtown which is central for business and tourist attractions.

the W Time Square is definitely THE most happening, party vibe W in NYC if not the world! It is "loud" by the surrounding neon lights, it is almost always filled with people at the lobby/bar area. The rooms are reasonably sized for NYC and everything else about it (whatever, whenever) is consistent with the W brand. Location is great ...

What a hidden gem! I'm actually talking about the Sky Terrace on the 15th floor. It's a beautiful place to visit, even if you're not a guest at the hotel. Make sure to make a reservation or else you risk not being able to get a table. The views are great and well worth the pricy drinks.

Reasons why the Four Seasons NYC is on my favorite list: the central location to EVERYTHING, the restaurants, the service, and the amenities. Rooms are comfortable and plush.
