Well I just spent a bunch of time here this weekend and its a very nicely situated hotel with nice but not posh accoutrements. Its on the expensive side, but it sits on mission bay and mission landing. It is also a hop skip and jump, yes the infamous triple jump, from Sea World.

There are multiple wings of this hotel and most are 2 stories. The rooms are spacious with decent beds and comfortable furniture. The TVs are nice sized and the bathrooms are what you would expect without being overly fancy.

PRO TIP: The pool area has a jacuzzi that seats 17 and a ping pong table. I immediately thought it would be a fun beer pong venue haha...

Parking is plentiful and near the rooms for the most part. Very few of the rooms would require a luggage/bellhop cart. Most of the rooms have a view of the bay/marina.

The staff that I came across was very helpful and nice. There is a business use computer on the edge of the front lobby.

The worst thing about this place is simply getting to it. It took me a second attempt to decipher its location.

This hotel is right by the bay and you can see the water from your room if it is facing on the right side. The price is affordable and there are a lot of water activities to do.

I stayed here three nights while doing some photography and videography for a company with a new autonomous sailing vessel. Pretty cool stuff. The Dana was convenient to Scripps Marina where we were working. It's also walking distance, over the short bay bridge, to Mission Beach. Some of the rooms on the bay side are nicer and have been remodeled more recently. The staff is friendly, but the heater wasn't working well, kept blowing the fuse in my room and I had to switch rooms. I think this is not usually a problem in Socal with our warm winters, but we've had a cold spurt lately. The manager was kind enough to remove the room charge for the first night, so I found that very accommodating. The second room was much better. The beds were clean and comfortable. There is complimentary wifi and two nice pools and hot tubs. The Firefly is their restaurant on the property. I found the food okay, but the drinks good, and the staff friendly. I would stay here again. Parking however, is a bit steep at $20 per night, and there is nowhere on the street to park your car overnight.
