Jeremy Davenport is way dreamier than Michael Bublé. And the fact that he has a lounge in the Ritz-Carlton named after him is pretty impressive. His voice is like butter. And what a trumpeter he is.
The Davenport Lounge is classy and refined, just like their cocktail list. Our French Martinis and Sazerac were fab. Instead of Absolut, our bartender upgraded to Belvedere for our martinis without an extra charge. It was a wonderful place to get a night cap after a night out on the town... and it also helped that it was conveniently located in the hotel we're staying in.
The live jazz was amazing. Like I said, we felt like we were watching Michael Bublé... but for free. Couples took over the dance floor - romance was in the air.
Afternoon Tea is offered every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. And live music Thursdays through Sunday. And if it's like other Ritz-Carltons I've been to, I'm sure their afternoon tea is absolutely lovely. And they definitely put on the ritz with their live music.

Jeremy Davenport is the golden boy with the trumpet in the Davenport Lounge at the Ritz Carlton on Canal Street. On Thursday he plays from 5:30-9PM. On Friday & Saturday, he plays from 9PM - 1AM. Davenport and his band put on a great show. There is no cover to get in but the drinks are expensive. We typically go for an hour or so early on a Thursday night and order a bottle of wine for about $65. And they also give us a little bowl of snacks. It's a great way to start off a Thursday night. If you get there early you can grab one of the great couches with a perfect view of the stage.
