The Embassy Inn

1627 16th St. NW, Washington DC, DC 20009-3063
3 reviews

I like the comfy furniture in the hotel's sitting room. It feels like a family's den. The d├ęcor is very Old World. People visiting from abroad stay here when they come to attend conferences. It's not a bad walk to Dupont Circle. And it's not far from the trendy, young U Street corridor with it's eateries, clubs and music venues. ...

    Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is in the nice, yuppie neighborhood area of D.C. filled with historic, old-school townhouses, bookstores and coffee shops, notably Kramers, which is my favorite bookstore in D.C.

Tranquil Space is a conveniently located yoga studio where you can drop in and get your yogi groove on. Vinyasa yoga offered throughout the day. Instructors and staff are great. Although not surrendering to the corporate or gym like feel of many yoga studios, this place could be seen as too urban trendy, decked out in pastels for this seeking ...

I love Whole Foods even though it can be pretty expensive. This one probably has the best salad bar of any I've been to (the 14th and P one is a close contender), and boy, do I love their salad bar.

How did I miss this place before?! It took me 5 trips to discover this gem of a conglomerate of streets/district. We came here looking for a specific restaurant - Donburi and I was absolutely overtaken by the liveliness and foodiness of Adams-Morgan in the evening. Intervening small shops and restaurant alongside each other all buzzing with fun, food and ...

As I'm sure you'll hear from others: if you've been here, you definitely love the band you're seeing. It's in a developing part of the city and a lot safer than when I first went in 2001. It's surrounded by some great local bars and restaurants. American Ice is a great place to get a drink right before a concert.

We got admissions for two to both the Flying Monster 3D showing (narrated by David Attenborough) and admission to the museum for about $20 on LivingSocial. After showing up at our pre-registered showtimes, we were handed a pair of ultra-cool 3D (spy-)glasses and headed for the building hosting the theater (through the back of the main museum building). There is ...

European styled park, also known to DCers as Malcolm X Park, once a haven for nefarious nocturnal activities (read: drugs, prostitution and assorted crime), one of the best places to hit on a beautiful day. Whether it is the long standing bongo circle that inspires impromptu dancing en masse, picnic, frisbee, soccer games, strolling or just hanging out on a ...

This place is the tops. Their draft beer menu is broken into categories like "authentic caste ale," "roast" or "tart and funky." It is quite small. I wouldn't bother visiting the aquarium unless you really love fish, and have a lot of free time on your hands. If you want to see an aquarium I would recommend taking a train to Baltimore and going to the Baltimore aquarium which is much better

Wonderful bar and restaurant right on Franklin Square. The second and third floor are dedicated to a sit down restaurant focused on fusion Latin American cuisine. The tuna ceviche is awesome. Nellie's is absolutely fantastic. It's a LGBT sports bar, but it's often a very mixed crowd, with lots of young, hip, DC professionals. The drinks are good, the beer selection is acceptable, and there's lots and lots of space (and a deck upstairs). A great place to start an evening with a group of friends (before going to Town, the ...
