The Fairmont Dubai is constructed after an Arabic wind tower, called barajeel in the native tongue. It is quite spectacular. The location is just opposite of the World Trade Center and is also directly linked to it, so you can easily catch a show there. The Fairmont Dubai is also home of the famous Cavalli Club, which is not only renowned for its luxury and amenities but also known in the whole Middle East. There is also the metro station right there, from which you can get anywhere in Dubai within 15 minutes. If you are planning on staying here, I was told the best rooms are the ones with the view on the Sheikh Zayed Road, but it shouldn’t be one of the ones on the lower floors. There is a lot of traffic.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

It wouldn't be my first choice. Sheikh Zayed Road has good places to go out at night, but in the end it's a freeway and this hotel is right on it. The inside feels dated to me with lots of neon lights. There are two pools facing two different directions, but because there's a huge overhang, both the pools are completely in the shade for most of the day. If one were coming from europe in the high season, just to get away from the cold, as a lot of tourists are from October to March, the lack of sun might be a bit of a disappointment. One good thing is that because there are offices in the same building, there are light meals for normal office workers in a cafe and sushi place right inside the hotel.

The fairmont in Dubai is nice hotel along main strip of Sheikh Zayed road. The rooms were nicely decorated and the staff were quite attentive and polite.
What I like about the hotel is the spa - the massage was nice, the steam bath was great and the roman themed jacuzzi looked inviting. Hanging out by the two pools and drinking cocktails was enjoyable after the spa. Also there is a popular and expensive night club called Cavalli which is elegantly decorated and another club called 400 which is small but nice too. If you want more of a quiet drink head to cigar bar and cin cin. Overall the hotel is orientated towards the business guest, but it is also good for vacationers.Recommended for:Business Travelers

I've stayed here twice, and apart from being one of the biggest bordellos in Dubai (the lobby and bars were full of Eastern European ladies suspiciously hanging around) its really a nice hotel. Service is fantastic, rooms are great and the restaurants are top notch - especially the Steak House. Its a great location if you are attending an event at the World Trade Center and it has a metro station right outside the door.
