One of our favorite choices for both luxury and history in San Francisco, the Fairmont has been a favorite of visiting dignitaries and celebrities for over a century. At the top of tiny Nob Hill, the 600-room grand hotel features a host of extra amenities sure to make every kind of guest happy: a full business setup, a luxurious spa, and even afternoon tea. Try the honey; it's produced by the hotel's own honeybee hive in the culinary garden on the rooftop.

If your budget allows it or in need of a splurge, the best place to stay in San Francisco is at The Fairmont San Francisco Hotel, part of the same hotel chain as The Plaza in New York. The shooting location for The Rock and many other prominent movies, The Fairmont is the epitome of old Hollywood glamour, grandeur and elegance. It is royal, timeless and sumptuous. Stay in the same hotel where kings and queens, Presidents, Prime Ministers and legendary movie stars have stayed at, and you will feel equally royal. Located on top of a hill, the views are picturesque.

I really dig the decor of the Fairmont hotel even though they all seem to look more or less the same from the outside. This one really exemplifies what the Fairmont has always meant to me, a fantastic high class hotel with a wanna-be old world feel and plenty of modern luxury included.
They hosted Gold Rush a few years back which is an exotic cars race similar but on a much, much, much smaller scale to Gumball 3000 so I had the chance to see their coordination, hospitality and luxury skills in action. All three were exceptional from what I can see and their restaurant was delicious and not as much of an arm and a leg like I thought it would be.
I'm a big fan of boutiques in San Francisco only because it really helps me to get away and remind me that I'm not just 54 minutes from home, but this was a treat indeed.

On Nob Hill this is definetly classy and what I think of when San Francisco comes to mind.
The hotel is a bit stuffy but the service is wonderful!
The rooms are spacious with great amenities and it has everything.
One thing I really loved is that the hotel has a car that will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius for free.

Luxurious, classy, upscale.. Whatever you call it. I went there with some friends on Christmas eve and The christmas decoration inside and outside the hotel are beautiful. And I love the location. Close to downtown and the neighborhood is so nice.

This was a surreal experience. We got to stay at the Fairmont Suite, which the Clintons, Romneys, Obamas and many celebrities and world leaders have stayed. The views and the decor in the rooms were sensational. I truly felt like like royalty in every way possible. The hotel itself is very old-world and special in a top-knotch aristocratic way.
