love the lay out, with the courtyard, the pool could be bigger...breakfast is great
superstay, also where it is, perfect spot for everything. our room was a little dated, perhaps the renovated it already...
    i would go back.

I love the lobby of this hotel! It has a pretty, French country look with lots of light and windows overlooking a courtyard. I wouldn't mind having the upholstery on the furniture in my own home! On many evenings, there is a pianist in the lobby.

Deluxe rooms often have a courtyard views. One thing I learned: If there are rooms available and you ask for an upgrade when you arrive, you won't pay as much as if you booked the upgraded room in advance.

There are three hotels opposite each other on this corner. I think the Fairmont is the nicest looking. The location is not a bad walk to Dupont Circle, Georgetown or George Washington University Hospital.

If you pay extra for the Gold 9th floor, there is a special lounge, complimentary breakfast and evening hor d'oeuvres.

The front desk staff and the doormen were unfailingly friendly and polite.
