Allen and Son is a bit of a drive, but it's worth it. This is the best pulled pork in the universe if you're willing to make the trip. Hush puppies come with everything, and the cole slaw is dreamy. They aren't open on Sundays and they don't take credit cards, although there is an ATM inside.Popular withLocalFoodiesAdventure

The Original Q-Shack (look for "Original" in the title since there are others) is a good place for a variety of BBQ. The pork is good and the sides are decent. It's not the best BBQ in town, but it's often in the list that locals recommend. Part of that is ease of access, I'm sure.Popular withFoodiesLocalStudents

I and my boyfriend's first chicken & waffles...AMAZING. We happened onto this place in downtown by chance. Come for a chicken & waffle dinner and be sure to order the greens. You can customize your order - I had sweet potato waffles which were to die for. Cool atmosphere emphasizing the signature dish's supposed 'Harlem Renaissance' roots. Great staff, impeccable, ...

Came here on Saturday for NCIAP Peoples Medical Care banquet with all of the top doctors in North Carolina. Great venue. The hall was beautiful and very big, perfect for our event. Staff was very kind and management generously gave a sponsorship for our nonprofit cause. Hope to come again next year.Popular withBusinessFamilies

Sometimes I consider moving back to North Carolina just to be closer to A Southern Season again. It's larger than many Targets or Wal-marts but filled with hundreds of cheeses, thousands of specialty items from around the world, and everyone's favorite Wall o'Chocolate (at least 500 different kinds of chocolate bars). They sell every kitchen implement known to humankind (seriously: ...

This great Middle Eastern/Mediterranean deli in downtown Chapel Hill is a total gem. The food is all delicious and the menu is quite large. Lots of fresh deli items are in view in cases and hot food is made quickly with fresh ingredients. It's quite a large space, so it would be great for a group meal.

Great cuban food. Try the buffet, One entree, and two sides, for a good price. The outdoor patio features Salsa dancing on weekends.

Arguiably Carborro's town center - Weaver Street Market is not only a grocery store but also the place where you're bound to run into someone else from town. If you want to find out what life is like in this small town that borders Chapel Hill - buy a drink or a snack and sit outside under the trees and ...Popular withFamiliesLocalBudget

If you want BBQ in Durham, look no further. I mean, if you want to go further, head to Allen & Sons. If you expect to be too full with brisket and pork, then Bullock's is your place. This place has been around forever, and is the real deal.Popular withFoodiesLocalAdventure

Food was not great and service was worse. Rude and slow - not fun. It was busy but they could have made more of an effort. Won't be back.Popular withBudgetLocalFoodies

By far the best breakfast you'll have in Cary. Amazing breads, croque madame with spinach and the feature latte is always a great choice.Popular withAdventureFoodiesVegetarian
