The Fearrington House Country Inn

2000 Fearrington Village, Pittsboro, NC 27312
3 reviews

The most exquisite and romantic inn I've ever stayed at. Every room is elegant and plush, the service is high above par and the food is amazing. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it.

Aw, this place is pretty simple. But the swans come here every year to nest! It's quite spectacular, actually. It seems like a North Carolina secret, so be careful who you tell!

    Mount Olivet Cemetery

2.79 mi from The Fearrington House Country Inn
    1 review

Mount Olivet is a nondescript modern burial place in a suburban town. The only reason to visit here might be if you're either a huge football fan or a Green Bay Packer fan because Mount Olivet is the final resting place of the greatest football coach of all time--Vince Lombardi.

A really nice garden to take a stroll. My favorite is the goldfish pond with all lily pads. It was so cute! If you want to take a picture with a nice background, there are so many areas you can choose from. The garden is a nice place to relax.

“What is it that binds us to this place as to no other? It is not the well or the bell or the stone walls or the crisp October nights. . . . No our love for this place is based upon the fact that it is as it was meant to be, The University of the People.”... That was ...

I was in Durham visiting a friend for 4 days and this was absolutely my favorite place! It was so much fun and the bartender was awesome! Location wise I would have never seen it -it looks like a bunch of factories/offices and in the middle of nowhere, a total hidden gem. My friend saw the great reviews on yelp ...

A traditional American classic: the farm-based creamery. There are few of these left in America. What they lack in terms of creative ice cream making they make up with good quality ice cream mixed with a little nostalgia. Carolina Crunch is clearly the classic. On a warm summer day, you can't beat some sweet dairy and the rolling agricultural hills ...

The Nasher Museum is a little fine and modern art museum on the Duke Campus. The building is nice, but the exhibitions are put together by beginning curators. I haven't been impressed by the exhibited artists or the curation. Also check out the Susan Duke Gardens down the street.

Bennett Place State Historic Site in Durham, NC. is where Confederate General Joseph Johnston surrendered his army to Union General William T. Sherman on April 26, 1865. Confederate General Robert E. Lee had surrendered his army seventeen day before, on April 9th, 1865 at Appomattox Courthouse, thus effectively ending the war.

    West End Wine Bar

16.1 mi from The Fearrington House Country Inn

Although it’s in a college town, West End Wine Bar is hardly a college bar. Most nights, expect a raft of thirtysomethings checking out the representative (but not too expensive) selections of wines from around the globe. Most can be had by the sample (two ounce), by the glass (five ounce), and/or by the bottle. Nibble on cheese and charcuterie, ...
