The best place in London for a walk, the Heath is enormous. It features pretty woodland passes, swimming ponds and fantastic views over London. There are lots of great cafes and pubs to have lunch in the area too, on both the Hampstead and Highgate sides.

    Camden Arts Centre

    0.47 mi from The Flask
    3 reviews

The Camden Arts Centre is a gallery in the Belsize Park/Hampstead area with a really good visitor-outreach program. The cafe is well-suited for families and there are a lot of weekly events hosted there to bring people in to the museum. The lawn is also a nice little island above the street if you catch a bit of sun.

Tickets for this Belsize Park spot are a bit pricier than your average cinema, but they're oh-so-worth-it. Sophisticated snacks and wine on offer, the comfiest lounge chairs and lots of arty and/or independent films to choose from. Perfect for a classy evening :)

A hidden gem in north london. This is the north extension of Hampstead Heath. Idyllic duck pond and deer enclosure. There is an aviary and a butterfly house. Two playgrounds and a decent cafe that serves great ice cream. A nice spot for the kids.

At times a bit kitschy and at other moments too reverential, but this is the spiritual home of Freudian psychoanalysis. Well worth a visit if you're in that neck of the woods.

Surprisingly posh inside, I passed this place many times on the way two or from Golders Green. It's got a good menu, although a little light on the ale selection. Still, it's got comfy padded booths by the window and a decor that does a good job of retaining the old feel with an upscale finish.
