Amazing! One of the best gay bars I've ever been to! Great time whether you are gay or not. Totally packed even on week nights and with fun and fabulous drag performance. Great time! Oh and great prices on drinks!

Our favorite of the gay spots in Dublin. The crowd is friendly and the location is good. It isn't particularly special but seems to always draw a reasonably good crowd.

Dublin's premier gay bar and dance club-- at least, that's what I was told. From the outside, a stately old building-- definitely not out of place in historic downtown Dublin. I walked past it a couple times, actually, because the building just doesn't look like a club. Step inside, however, and the blinding light of fabulousness overwhelms. When the technicolor photos settle, you'll find that everyone from Dublin's gay rugby team to the most famous drag queens in the city to a crowd of straight men-and-women-just-looking-for-a-fun-night-out call this club home. A pleasant surprise, indeed.

The George has a friendly crowd, standard drinks, and good, varied music.

Description

The George describes itself as "the lynchpin that holds Dublin's gay scene together," and says it has "a mix of styles with a sprinkling of fairydust thrown in." Indeed, it is the first port of call for many visitors who want to put their finger on the pulse of Ireland's gay scene. In addition to drag shows, karaoke, DJs and the other typical gay club fare, they host bingo, quiz nights, and ... read more
