Get this: the main entrance is a bank of exterior glass elevators – you get in, push the “Lobby” button, and watch the city drop away below you. Great views southward: the Liffey, modern Docklands area and, in the distance, the Wicklow Mountains. If you can be bothered to turn around, there’s an (extremely) understated lobby and sophisticated lounging, drinking, and eating areas, all running into one another in a sort of hotel version of an open-plan family home. Throughout the building is a series of beautiful interior courtyards, very peaceful and quiet. The rooms (many of which face the courtyards) are large, perfectly designed, and—get this, again—come fitted with Nespresso machines. The hotel is in a recently-developed (and -developing) area that can feel a bit sterile, especially at night when nothing’s on at the O2 arena next door.Recommended for:
