Owned by Tongans, Taki ( and his wife who was away while I was there), Hideaway is your ideal place to stay if you want to feel Tonga and don't need stars. First off all the staff are just so lovely and helpful and nothing is any trouble.
I might suggest you think twice about taking the ferry across to Eua (Aywha) - if it is anything but glassy smooth the locals will start heaving and even if you've never been seasick you will once that smell hits you. Mind you once you get off the ferry Taki will get you home, after booking your return flight, and make sure you have a hot shower and plenty of towels.
Hideaway offers clean fales with ensuites and a general get together area that serves as restaurant bar and tour info. This was a great area because it encouraged interaction between guests and staff. There is no fridge or coffee making in the room but the restaurant opens early.
The beach is a 10 minute walk through the bush, although you look out over water from the restaurant and there is jetty/lookout there as well. The beach did not seem good for swimming but it wasn't so warm in July. The water was shallow and rocky and we were only there 2 days so I didn't investigate more.
There is a list of about 12 tours you can go on from a 4wd island tour to hiking and rock climbing caves (some requiring holding on to available ropes), and basket weaving and diving.
The food at Hideaway is excellent and abundant. I've seen complaints that the menu lacks a wide variety but there are at least 2 meats cooked in various ways and there are only 6 fales and some single rooms.
We hope to one day get back to Tonga and visit Taki and Eua again. This is the place for you if you aren't after flash accommodation and would like to chat with Tongans and relax.
